It's NOT THAT easy. I know, I've been trying for over a YEAR now. I have called and spoken with many reps from a couple different companies, all promise to "call you back" with info but NOT ONE ever has. This, despite my repeatedly calling and, at times, even speaking with the same people time and again. Other times they give me a couple different numbers to "try" which simply sends me in circles. I, too, am in desperate need of actiqs in 2 strengths 1,600 and 400 mcg due to non CURABLE and extremely painful medical conditions. My health insurance HAD PAID FOR them for the previous 8 yrs but them suddenly announced that they didn't consider them "cost effective" any further and therefore refused to pay for them any longer. This DESPITE not just MY DOCTORS telling them that this was the ONLY medicine and delivery system for my specific case, but also their OWN, hand picked, doctors DID as well. And STILL the insurance company just stopped paying saying that if I wanted to continue taking them then I and my family has to SELF pay. At over $5,000/a month cost, we are now flat broke and cannot afford them anymore. Suicide is now being considered.
I am in Texas and the military base just stopped carrying the Actiq so now I don't know how to get this med and I've been on it for 8 yrs. any help on how to get this would help me.
I've been looking to, if you know anybody that can sell to me I would appricate it thanks
I also need help buying Actiq (Fentanyl Lozenge). My insurance (Aetna) paid for 2 years until last year when it cost them $35,000; at $2,200 per month I can no longer afford to purchase on my own. I am pursuing all avenues. Any help will be appreciated. This is needed for constant cluster migraines and severe diabetic neuropathy.
Check with the maker of the medication. Some companies have patiend Assistance programs, that give you the medication, free of charge. You have to meet their finacial standards.
The generics for this are not really new, they have been out for awhile now. You will find them under Duragesic for the generics.
I am self-employed, husband neglected to pay our ins. on time twice so they cancelled us and would not re-instate. I am also currently going through a divorce and have to pay my dr. visits, as wells as all medications with cash. I have had 14 years of pain and fatigue from myofascial pain dysfunction along with fibromyalgia. Ironically, Actiq is the only medication that gives me complete quality of life, it's worth the money I have to spend on it, but if help is available through this site or if this site knows of any insurance places, that would be helpful. I am uninsurable because of the pre-existing condition. Also, do you know the name of the new generic form of actiq? Thanks so much, Jo Dee Chappell
