Bf is past user from 20 plus yrs ago. Started again in '08 and has continued use daily to present. Don't know how to help him & am so Frustrated. He is HIV positive w/catastrophic care with his doc. Doc doesn't know what is going on. Says he wants to stop but doesn't want to compromise his relationship with MD. On Medicare & SSD-can't threaten that. I don't know how to help him. Afraid Suboxone from another source will compromise relationship w/ DR.

Wow! You are in a very tough situation.

If he needs help, he needs help and his doctor will understand that. Getting from an illegal source is what would compromise his doctor's caring for him and trusting him. He needs to go through legal venues, by seeing a doctor that has the waiver to treat with Suboxone.

You can search by zip code on the website, Suboxone.com click here. The results will include their contact information, so you can contact them to see if they are accepting new patients. Another idea would be to ask his current doctor to refer him to someone for help.

The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone else have any ideas?
