I Have Hep C Geno Type 1 Stage 3

I have been dealing with this for almost 9 months, no treatment what so ever, Dr says my insurance will not cover any type of treatment til my dease progress to stage 4, for the last two months every time I eat I feel sick at my stomach, my side hurts me all the time I could sleep 24/7 my energy is gone, an when I discuss this with my dr they suggest pain pills or anti depressants, my feet and legs swell an I am beginning to look pregnant which I am not. I am starting to make my self notes to remind me to do things I now forget. Can anyone please explain to me what I am experiencing.

Hello, Maria! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having.

Those can be some of the symptoms of Hep C, as listed by the NIH, so your disease may be progressing.

I find it odd that your insurance company won't cover anything earlier than that.

Have you considered paying for some medications on your own? Or applying for other assistance? There are some foundations set up specifically to help in situations like that.

Are you on any medications, at all, currently?

I'm on no medication, an I have ask why I can't go on medication, an it's the same reply my insurance will not until it becomes to a stage 4, I offered to pay out of pocket an was told if I did my insurance would drop me. Since I have posted this I have started staying in pain, an I get confused alot, I'm tired I'm to the point to where I sleep all the time my appetite is gone.

Hi Maria,

I worked with healthline support path and my Dr and that is why I was able to get it. My insurance said 3 pills then I pay $5,000 for 84 pills. No way, then my Dr worked with insurance and got them to pay all but just under $12,000 and they got a foundation to pay the balance. I paid nothing and was still in a very early stage. In my last post to you I said the insurance wanted me to get three pills then pay $5,000 but I forgot to say then three more free then I pay $5,000 for the total of the 84 pills, basically I would have had to pay way more than we could afford. But the Dr took care of that.
