I Have Caught Cvs And Other Pharmacies Lying About Not Having Oxycodone In Stock, Shortage 2012 (Page 20) (Top voted first)
UpdatedWell today I officially caught a cvs here in Ga lying to me. A friend of mine filled his Meds yesterday. I go in, having a history with cvs, a recent one, and am immediately lied to. The pharmacist comes over and tells me they haven't had them in stock for months, without looking at his book or computer. At this point I stated an employee I know the name of told me shipment came in Thursday. He lied again. I then told him friend had filled yesterday morning. He said it was impossible. I then said I saw the bottle with my own eyes, it had their address on it, and even told him what brand they had since my friend just filled his there. Pharmacist lied to me yet again. I then asked him why he wad lying to me and that I am tired of being treated like a criminal because I am 30 with a handicapped tag and a four page long mri report for my neck, mid, and lower back. I just found out I have central and foramina stenosis in my lower back, yea!! He then asked me if I had been having trouble filling. I said yes, it seems a lot of pharmacies are lying about not having it in stock. I said it is easy to tell on how they look at you, treat you, and if they check their logbook which is required for all schedule two Meds. I then gave him a chance to not lie and said "so you mean you filled the last of your stock yesterday." Since he lied to me again I decided it was time to call his district manger. The info I told him was correct but he decided to lie so its not my fault if he gets fired. U am going to let his district manager know the whole story, and let them know that if something is not done I will contact the news about discrimination against a legit pain patient for them not to get their Meds and have a normal life. They won't want bad press that is for sure, esp since I have a handicapped tag. I am in their system for filling the exact Meds I brought in, they have my discount card on file also, and my whole family uses their pharmacy so these ate the thongs I will tell district. Any other pharmacies who lie I will do the same thing to. So it seems the shortage going on here in Georgia and Florida are manipulated by the pharmacies and the distributors. Mckesson isn't shipping them out to rite aid, wal mart, sams, and Target. They are afraid of getting fined like a few years ago or getting in trouble like cardinal, cvs, walgreens, publix, and krogers distributor. Cardinal is still shipping from Mississippi and north Carolina, but not from Florida atm. The rest of the country is not having any problems, just Florida and Georgia. Since I have a lawsuit going against Allstate from my car accident(not my fault) and we are going after a doc who read someone else's mri to make his conclusion and type a bogus report to my insurance so they will not reimburse me anymore, we ate going after him for slander or defimation of character since he wrote I sell my Meds, maybe I can add cvs for pain and suffering and descrimination. This is absolutely rediculous these days. Sorry for the rant but people selling them ate making a killing these days and legit patients are going broke from price gouging or gas prices just so we can live a somewhat normal life. Makes no sense how out system works.
Dear Verwon; You are absolutely wrong about oxycontin not being a life threatening medicine. I have malignant hypertension encephalopathy my blood pressure accelerates to 245/135. Yes I have had strokes as well. When I have an episode of the encephalopathy the best way to explain the pain. It feels as if someone is smashing my head with a sledge hammer. I do take this medication in conjunction with many other medications. If I do not have it within a 24 hour period of time I am rushed to ER. Oh I could go on like the peripheral neuropathology in both legs. So gets your facts together Charlie. As many can attest to here you are only showing your ignorance.
First i keep telling everyone to vidio or voice record everytime you go to pharmacy WITHOUT them knowing, and there is your proof of how they treat you and so on, and you can look up your pills in this site were on and figure out what the other pills are. And wait for your Lawer to get back and take it from there. Good luck honey im proud of you for not killing that Pharmacist!
they are a bunch of lying d1ckholes.
just go to wal-mart, but yeah it gets tiring being lied to about them not having the prescription when you have a legitimate medical need and it is NONE OF THEIR GODDAM BUSINESS anyway what you are prescribed.
wow, simply astounding how many uniformed retards are trolling on here. most of you cann o tbe this stupid in real life so the simple conclusion is that your either trolling or just running you rmouth to relieve anger/aggression on the internet to someone who is not able to confront you in person because you are to big a p**** to ever say these things in real life. so go ahead, keep trolling, no ones taking you seriously. much like in real life. especially you MIKE ... yup, im really talking to you. if you ever bo up and run that trap in the real world someones gonna push it in for you. so why dont you go back to f****** that net hag iron maiden and leave real people alone so they can have adult conversations, dork.
i no what u mean i was done the same way. can we get them in trouble for lien?an call district. they say they r saving them for their regulars its not rite what if any can b done?
U r wrong. There r problems in ky. Wholesales only sale you so much and if u go over the amt. u are flagged and dea is notified and therefor store must do eni meni mino mo. Lets see who we can fill for today or who should we not fill for. After all we can't fill for everyone. Right?? Or we the pharmacy will b in trouble. Something needs to b done
@ pissedpharmacist: perhaps you should realize that YOU aren't a real doctor, which means you are unqualified to determine what drugs should be described to whom. You are 100% wrong in saying OxyContin is only for cancer patients. Any medical professional with half a brain can tell you there are many conditions that are as painful as cancer, and everyone's pain threshold is different. Seeing as you're not a medical doctor, everything you said is just a guess from a person unqualified to give medical advice (I'm in my first year of internship after med school, so I actually can say I know your limitations quite well). So do everyone a favor: when we write an rx, fill it and keep your judgemental opinions to yourself- let the real doctors do their job,and you do yours.
I have a bladder disease called IC this is comparable to stage 4 cancer. It is people like you that make it so hard for someone like me with a real health problem to get the medication that I need because of the abuse in America . I am so tired of people like you b****ing about you back and neck problems, it seems that everyone in America has a bad back and neck that makes them disabled and needing pain meds . Let me tell you something being 26 and having to cath myself and being in and out of the hospital is a real health problem not a family doctor telling you that your neck and back is bad. 85% of people abusing pain meds are people that have been told they have a bad back or neck problem. I am sorry that you are having problems getting your pain meds filled but I understand why you are not getting them filled being in the medical filled if you are in that bad of shape you would not be able to afford the doctor appointments if you didn't have insurance unless you are very wealthy.
I believe what Dr.Westcoast meant was, pharmacy students know more about drugs and body chemistry than most medical students and doctors do. In my many years in the pharmacy, it is not uncommon for doctors to call and question what meds their patients are using, and what drug does the pharmacist recommend for X condition. A confident doctor turns to the healthcare professional who is educated in pharmacology for recommendations. Than, there are the doctors who jump on the bandwagon pulled by the big pharma horses as to what they prescribe. It is amazing what I've seen in front of and behind that high wall in the pharmacy!
Now, for all of those saying what "lying scum" these pharmacists are, I can say the same thing about certain doctors. I base it on personal experience. I first went to my sister's doctor when I moved to this god forsaken city I live in after my mother died. I told him what prescriptions I take, the diagnosis, and my former doctor's fax number is so that the new doctor could get medical records. The new doctor wouldn't get my medical records, because he didn't write for the class of drugs I had been on for over ten years. None of these were schedule II narcs or amphetamines. Later working in a retail pharmacy, I see this doctor writing for the same scripts that I use for other patients. I've come to the conclusion, that if he didn't diagnose it, he wasn't writing for it. Well, that's adherence to the Hippocratic Oath. I guess in his case, it is Hypocritic Oath.
Also, the local hospital ER and OP clinic, write a prescription for Oxycodone for every and any dx. They put the dx on every printed script. Got a sore throat? No problem. Here is a script for an antibiotic and a script for Oxycodone. Really? If a person's throat is that sore, perhaps a low level pain killer in liquid form and a heavy duty antibiotic are in order. In the retail pharmacy I worked at, Oxycodone are handed out like MMs at a candy store. We have a rule -- if you are getting oxy, then you have to get all the scripts...not just the pain killer. That rule causes quite the hissy fit, until we explain why we do it. Yes, we say it is to prevent substance abuse or to prevent somebody from getting a drug that can be sold on the street. The explanation usually shuts up the screamers. I don't know if it is because we are being truthful, or we just busted somebody's game plan.
My heart goes out to the chronic pain sufferers on this thread. Unfortunately, many of you are setting yourselves up for rejection by being nasty and argumentative toward the pharmacists. Just say thank you and find another pharmacy. If necessary, repeat it the next month. Eventually, the pharmacist at your "first choice" pharmacy may change his/her mind about filling that CII script, because of not conducting yourselves like you're entering the start of opioid withdraw. Personally, I have an anaphylactic reaction to opioids. So, if I get hurt or get a chronic pain disorder, I'm screwed.
WATCH YOUR PRESCRIPTION BOTTLES FOR:marks, symbols or price codes by the pharmacy on the labels of your prescription container. This is done to notifiy DEA Police that you have been labeled.
Also, do not allow the pharmacy to scan your DL; They may need to identify you by viewing your DL but do not allow them to walk away with your DL and scan into the system.
If you have problems with certain generics for any reasons be aware: If your doctor writes DAW on your oxycodone prescription that is not enough.
There are several generics that can be substituted by the pharmacist and the label will still read oxycodone.
Make sure your doctor writes DO NOT DISPENSE SUBSTITUTES insist upon this then the pharmacist must by law dispense oxycodone.
These substitued generics cause additional medical problems."I know first hand" I have suffered damages.
Oxceta is a substituted formula for oxycodone that was formulated in June of 2011; they will not write oxceta on your prescription bottle; they write oxycodone. It is my experience this particular formula will be causing heart problems and death.
Percolone causes redness and a allergic reaction; this can cause thyroid problems in my opinon.
Lastly the most terrifying experience I have realized first hand is the formula roxycodone. The pharmacist may tell you roxycodone is oxycodone; it isn't true.
Pharmacist are very deceptive and do not tell consumers the truth as they know it.
You have to be proactive and not except pharmacist to make you feel like a bad person or criminal if it is medical neccessary for you to take pain medication to enter life as a productive member of society.
Stand up for yourself no one else will.
Back to the very terrifying information about roxycodone; they dispense this formula to those who may be suspected for drug abuse.
It is not only a name brand; it is a formula
I personally have tmj disk damage"late stage 5" and fibromyalgia but the pain medication I take for low back disk damage.
Roxycodone causes nerve pain and nerve damage. I personally had Miller Fisher disease as a result of percolone and roxycodone. Symtoms severve nerve pain etc.
Roxycodone is given across the board these medical so call professionals do not understand they damages they are creating;"ignorance".
These substituted formulas also create myosis so you can be identified why consuming these medications."This is why personally I have had so much pain from substitutes. This area around the eyes, disc area is affected when myosis occurs.
Roxycodone is a oxymoron; it causes pain when one is given it to reduce and eliminate pain.
Be strong dig deep; don't take these subtitutes they are very bad for your health.
Oxycodone is a good pain reliever; make sure your doctor writes "no substitues" DAW in notes on your prescription. If your doctor questioned that request.
Tell me you want to be incharge of what is dispensed at your pharmacy; otherwise it's the pharmacist choice and they are violating laws in my experience, can not be trusted.
Also insist on seeing the bottle they are taking your medication out of and ask them to kindly put the lot# of the bottle on you prescription bottle. That is the only way you can identify what your give. Not the NDC # THAT ONLY MEANS IT'S ONE OF MAYBE 8 DIFFERENT FORMULAS. I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY ; YOU ARE NOT A DRUG ADDICT. IF YOU ARE GET HELP. DON'T LET THESE PHARMACISTS TREAT AS A DRUG ADDICT WHEN YOUR NOT. Unfornutely it's my experience Walgreens and CVS can not be trusted.
I surely feel for you for being lied to.Also being treated like a criminal when here you are disabled! I am 12 yrs. Disabled and have been thru it now!!! I've had to scream and cry at times for a Dr. To believe i'm in pain! Also have had to search for a pharmacy that Does have Oxycodone in stock!! What the heck is going on!!
I DO empathize, SUFFER chronic pain after being crushed by a runaway tractor trailer, am NOT very young, and am NOT throwing stones. I am just saying that you might not be taken seriously if you don't represent yourself as knowing the basics of writing. It's kind of like giving those who take pain pills a bad name. Don't be so defensive; I was just trying to help you get your message across.
LOL, ok, I'm lookin for drugs & got pissy cuz no one had any to offer.. Ya right, did U see me post a question looking for drugs? NO cuz I didn't & I wouldn't, Get a grip.
Who cares about freaken grammer. That erks me. The facts r they r lien to lagit patients. An please, when some 1 b......s about grammer,it show there stupiedity. The point.has gotten across. An that's the point.
Try sams.they fill for a dr.4 thosr n nobodyelse will. You do not have to have a membership to do a perscription that they stop you just say I'm picking up my prescription you don't have to have a Sams card for that I guarantee that will work don't call just go hope it works for you I've sent a couple people there and it has worked
actually i have recently gotten off of the oxi's just over 5 weeks ago after 7 years of every single day and i gotta say most of you are wrong-to the one seeking help-just get urself off and on SUBUTEX they work i read u cant work without your meds i was n the same boat the drugs were running my life in every aspect including mentally first thought everyday-im swearing to you i started subuutex i never had withdrawel at all and they also help my pain which is no nonexisistent and also the depression and anxiety that come with addiction is gone-i cant tell u enough how awesome it is to be in charge of my life again at 57 years old! u owe it to yourself and kids to find a doc that can put u on subs and stay on em! suboxone did NOT do it for me The other also aids me with energy which as u know matters very much
Hey i feel ur pain! Except mine is due to the cost of generic forms exploding to $3-4 per pill. The only manufacturer that hasn't raised price is Mylan, which sours my stomach due to size and filler in them. I have taken the actavis brand for 3 years and now the pharmacies and horizon bc/bs won't cover them. What's the point of insurance then?! I'm wondering how I will pay $500 compared to the $5.68 I am used to paying
