I Have Caught Cvs And Other Pharmacies Lying About Not Having Oxycodone In Stock, Shortage 2012 (Page 14)

Well today I officially caught a cvs here in Ga lying to me. A friend of mine filled his Meds yesterday. I go in, having a history with cvs, a recent one, and am immediately lied to. The pharmacist comes over and tells me they haven't had them in stock for months, without looking at his book or computer. At this point I stated an employee I know the name of told me shipment came in Thursday. He lied again. I then told him friend had filled yesterday morning. He said it was impossible. I then said I saw the bottle with my own eyes, it had their address on it, and even told him what brand they had since my friend just filled his there. Pharmacist lied to me yet again. I then asked him why he wad lying to me and that I am tired of being treated like a criminal because I am 30 with a handicapped tag and a four page long mri report for my neck, mid, and lower back. I just found out I have central and foramina stenosis in my lower back, yea!! He then asked me if I had been having trouble filling. I said yes, it seems a lot of pharmacies are lying about not having it in stock. I said it is easy to tell on how they look at you, treat you, and if they check their logbook which is required for all schedule two Meds. I then gave him a chance to not lie and said "so you mean you filled the last of your stock yesterday." Since he lied to me again I decided it was time to call his district manger. The info I told him was correct but he decided to lie so its not my fault if he gets fired. U am going to let his district manager know the whole story, and let them know that if something is not done I will contact the news about discrimination against a legit pain patient for them not to get their Meds and have a normal life. They won't want bad press that is for sure, esp since I have a handicapped tag. I am in their system for filling the exact Meds I brought in, they have my discount card on file also, and my whole family uses their pharmacy so these ate the thongs I will tell district. Any other pharmacies who lie I will do the same thing to. So it seems the shortage going on here in Georgia and Florida are manipulated by the pharmacies and the distributors. Mckesson isn't shipping them out to rite aid, wal mart, sams, and Target. They are afraid of getting fined like a few years ago or getting in trouble like cardinal, cvs, walgreens, publix, and krogers distributor. Cardinal is still shipping from Mississippi and north Carolina, but not from Florida atm. The rest of the country is not having any problems, just Florida and Georgia. Since I have a lawsuit going against Allstate from my car accident(not my fault) and we are going after a doc who read someone else's mri to make his conclusion and type a bogus report to my insurance so they will not reimburse me anymore, we ate going after him for slander or defimation of character since he wrote I sell my Meds, maybe I can add cvs for pain and suffering and descrimination. This is absolutely rediculous these days. Sorry for the rant but people selling them ate making a killing these days and legit patients are going broke from price gouging or gas prices just so we can live a somewhat normal life. Makes no sense how out system works.
Yes, the retail price of Oxycodone 10/325 (120 pills) is $175 at Walgreens, $240 at Publix, around $175 at Winn Dixie and about $125 at Walmart. That's why I LOVE my new State of Florida Rx Card, because I can get them for around $47 at ALL these stores.
Wow..$175? Is that for the 10/325 pills? If so, how many? That seems really expensive to me.
Ha,Sometimes I wish COULD "dose" the pharmacist! Seriously, folks, I doubt you can sue a pharmacist/pharmacy for using their right to refuse to fill a prescription. They need no reason and I found out by going back to Walgreens in an effort to stay with the same pharmacy company (although a different store). Walgreens usually has Percocet because they charge $175 for a month's supply. When unable to find ANY store with the pills in stock, I got online and discovered the Florida Prescription Discount card. IT'S AWESOME. You can call 24/7 and they will tell you how much you'll be charged at each pharmacy. Now, I pay $47 (instead of $175) at Walgreens & don't have to go to Walmart to save money. Plus, I can use the drive through. (With the Florida card, prices are nearly the same at all pharmacies). Oh, and it doesn't matter how calm you are (when submitting a prescription) or how long you're willing to wait. If they're out it is too bad. They won't take the script and fill it when the supply comes in. Thank goodness for the State of Florida Rx Card because I can afford my scripts regardless of where I (finally) find it in stock. So THERE, Walgreens. Refuse me all you want, as long as I enjoy my $128 discount and get to wait in the comfort of my car at ONE of your stores!!!
Ha,Sometimes I wish could "dose" the pharmacist!
Try sams.they fill for a dr.4 thosr n nobodyelse will. You do not have to have a membership to do a perscription that they stop you just say I'm picking up my prescription you don't have to have a Sams card for that I guarantee that will work don't call just go hope it works for you I've sent a couple people there and it has worked
I too get treated like I'm in it to get a high all cause of the crooked ppl out there. These scripts need to be handled in a way all their own.. Make it so the Pharmacies don't have any Narcotics available n in order to fill a script there would be a series of verification steps to go through, like faxing the script to the manufacturer/distributor before reaping any narcotic medication, yeah you would have to wait a day or two but at least with some kind of system in play like this bad scripts n junkies could be easier identified... I just drove around to like 20 pharmacies n not one claims to have my medication. This is getting old...
People who spell every 5th word wrong, shorten words like "you," and capitalize "Meds" are perceived as not very smart, so how can they expect to 1) be taken seriously or 2) be trusted with narcotics? Like it or not, your ability to express yourself correctly goes hand in hand with your credibility. Also, pharmacists have the right to refuse to fill any script, and threatening to sue them is useless. I tried to get my Percocet filled at Walgreens in an effort to stay with the same retailer, but it was a different location, so they turned me down. Instead of getting angry, I acted calm and therefore passed the "test" given me. Like it or not, you ARE judged by your intelligence and the way you express yourself. Pharmacists have the (ridiculous) right to refuse to fill any script, and if I were one, I I'd be hesitant to fill a narcotic for someone who makes numerous mistakes in a short statement. Just saying, credibility is based on accuracy. The best news is that if you are uninsured, and live in Florida, you can obtain a discount card and get 120 Percocet for less than $50 at places that charge over $160 (like Walgreens). There is a toll-free number you can call and they'll tell you the exact price of the prescriptions you need. Go to the State of Florida website to register. Perhaps a most effective way to call attention to the problems encountered when trying to fill Rx's for pain is to write to the appropriate officials and be sure to use proper spelling and usage. We want them to think we are normal, intelligent citizens, right?
Who cares about freaken grammer. That erks me. The facts r they r lien to lagit patients. An please, when some 1 b......s about grammer,it show there stupiedity. The point.has gotten across. An that's the point.
LOL, ok, I'm lookin for drugs & got pissy cuz no one had any to offer.. Ya right, did U see me post a question looking for drugs? NO cuz I didn't & I wouldn't, Get a grip.
I can't be agitated by poor grammar and spelling, but rather, entertained. These pharmacies "ate the thongs"? Really? Please reread posts before publishing them. We who suffer chronic pain don't want to get a bad rap OR have a bad rep.
Blackmailed Consumer wrote:
"Hopefully someone of importance reads this.."
Actually, let's hope no one of importance ever reads that. It's hard enough for legitimate patients to get their medicine as it is. We don't need druggies like Blackmailed Consumer (who is obviously getting narcotics from a rouge pain clinic) gumming up the works even more!
Hey Blackmailed Consumer? Did you OD on your meds before you wrote that post? Who in the hell told you Walgreens is a non profit corporation? And regular pharmacies do not require cash nor do they charge $10.00/pill for a legitimate script. CVS and Walgreens both fill my prescriptions using my insurance and I just pay my co-pay. Of course, I get my meds from a licensed rheumatologist not a pain clinic.
If you have a verifiable condition, go to a real doctor or a pain clinic that's sanctioned by a hospital group in your area. The legitimate pharmacies aren't filling scripts from pain clinics in Florida anymore because too many people that should no be getting strong meds like oxy and dilaudid slip through the cracks and get them anyway.
Are you one of those?
I'm not on pain meds but I am on Adderall (CLII drug) for ADHD. I have doubled up on my daily med dose from time to time. No! It's not to get "high or higher" nor do I take 2 at once to double up the mgs either. They're a low mg, 5 mg xr, the slow release. However, they claim to last for 12 hrs. Well that's not true! They only last 8 hrs (but my days are 16 hrs long) and they do have a crash & burn when they're wearing off. There have been times, esp when I was trying to figure out the best schedule time to take my 1 daily pill where I don't have that crash while at work. There have been and will be times that I will have to take a 2nd pill to keep up with my schedule...which is longer than an 8 hr day/1 pill. I'm not abusing them just using them to control & reel in my condition...why they were prescribed in the 1st place. They really do help. I actually finish what I start now, I listen to people w/o tuning them out or butting in, etc... I'm a much calmer & productive person now and not such a high-strung, hyper b**** anymore. I'm sure those with chronic pain have good days & bad days so may need 1 more pill than the take 1 every 6 hrs directions, esp when we all know they actually wear off in about 4 hrs. so to run 1-3 days early does not make a person a junky. 2 weeks early? Now that's a different story.
Be glad you don't live in Florida, are pharmacies only take cash, the prices change daily, usually 10.00 a pill, people who need their medication just to function cannot afford it, the pharmacies should be regulated and stopped they are glorified licensed drug dealers, all you did is require a license, this is crazy someone needs to regulate this crap and get it stopped now. I am suspicious of any one that only takes cash.... Charlie Christ would never allow this to go on. I want to stop the illegal crap too but we need to keep a tight rope on all aspects, anyone who has taken a controlled substance knows how hard it is to get Walgreens t fill it but for those of us who are not drug addicts or dealers we can no longer go to Walgreens a not for profit pharmacy due to this crap. STATE OF FLORIDA HELP the new line of crap is that you need three non narcotics for every one and they are telling us that the DEA says so, the DEA says no way and my doctor is getting very upset at this. He cannot make up pills that I do not require, really what the hell is going on here who is sleeping on the Job WAKE UP they are blackmailing us, your job is to protect is, please protect us. patients are terrified to speak up because they know that they will be left with no medication stuck in bed or the ER. If it was hurricane season we wouldn't allow home depot to hike up the wood prices would we HELL NO. Hopefully someone of importance reads this....
REALLY Are You Serious woke up with a nasty hangover and spewed:
"Should be called 'drugaddicts-chat'".
It always cracks me up when morons like this come to the drug forums and start blasting everyone for being addicts. You want to tell us what brought you here? You love to judge and criticize everyone else yet here you are! People that don't do drugs DO NOT cruise the drug boards so come clean... you were here looking for oxy and got pissy when no one would sell to you.
It's okay man. We know you can't help it that you're an illiterate moron with a sixth grade education. Keep trying.. someone will eventually throw you a bone.

Hey... Wow... to the moron that blasted people for talking about pain meds on here, you're dumber than the junkies you insulted. This forum is called medchats you simpleton. Should we discuss sewing maybe?!
If you are able to control your pain with suboxene it's unlikely you ever needed the medicines you were on. First, suboxene is not very effective for pain in the levels it's given for opiate replacement therapy and, second, it's rarely used for pain management. If you were on oxycodone and fentynal and then were prescribed suboxene it's because you had a problem taking your meds as precribed and developed a serious problem.
Hi. My name is *placenamehere* and I know I'm like a year too late for this thread so I'm sure no one will read this but here goes. Ive lived with an extremely low pain tolerance my whole life but didn't start havin actual muscle pain and associated symptoms until I was 17, a doctor my mom (a nurse and fellow chronic pain patient) works with diagnosed me with fibromyalgia after seeing a couple hospital visits, one that evolved into a 5 day stay for testing and a string of other doctors with varying levels of compassion. I was on oxy and fentanyl and other non narcotic meds to treat fms for about 3 years and it was horrible. I had a lot of pain that kept me from holding a job of moving on with life the way my friends did (lost track of quite a few) and I became not jus chemically but emotionally dependent on these meds because I was so depressed and they weren't even helping the pain as much as they should've. I'm not judging anyone for being on them, my mom and even people my age are able to manage the meds because it improves their quality of life and their brain chemistry is not like mine (prone to addiciton). Finally I started Suboxone and that with a regimine of exercise and stress reduction and stretching is all I have to do to be miles ahead of where I was then. I'm very sorry for those of you who are still struggling with your combo of meds to get significant pain relief or those of you who have found it but are being denied it due to discrimination. I just wanted to say its hard for people my age with these problems. "you don't look sick" is even worse when you're under or around thirty, let alone 17. I turn 22 in a few days and I'm grateful for the life I've had on Suboxone for the last year and a half. It can be used off label for chronic pain, and it's helped mine and allowed me energy to exercise and further treat my condition 300 percent better than anything i was doing in those 3 years. Again, I totally respect that that's how it worked out for me and I don't judge any of you for the things that are working for you to have a life. But believe me, there is just as much stigma attached to Suboxone for pain treatment or addiction (I didn't do the things that f*** everything up for you guys with the system, but believe me the ones who do they're dealing with a disease all their own and don't mean to hurt the situation). I see a sports medicine doctor, very reputable who also treats a lot of chronic pain patients including my mom and he's the same doctor I've had throughout my fms treatment. He prescribes the Suboxone now and is a great doc, knowledgable, compassion but responsible in his prescribing and he sees people going through this everyday. I'm extremely lucky to live in Maryland where it seems like a more helpful environment than down south. And I will never step into a cvs. I go to a pharmacy that is within a community of medical buildings where theyve always treated me with complete respect and assistance. I know it must suck that it sounds like I'm bragging, but my life was disposable during those years and completely miserable, I can't imagine ever going back. I still have pain but it's so mild compared to before, with the exception of the occasional bad flare up. Thanks to Suboxone and the physical therapy it enabled me to do I now have a job, a volunteer job, a boyfriend who's amazing, and have moved out of my mothers house because I moved in with said boyfriend. And I never thought things would get better so keep trying.
By the way:
Have you guys ever tried lidocaine patches IV's? It never did s*** for my fibro pain but it's a local anesthetic (numbs the area of pain) and is supposed to be helpful for other conditions. I heard someone on here begging not to be judged because they use pot for pain. Dude, if someone calls you and addict for using pot (even recreationally) that person is a F***ing I****. Does wonders for my pms when my condition magnifies the torture of the cramps, so don't sweat it. Again pretty sure this is gonna go unnoticed, but thanks for reading if anyone did, hang in there.
Hey.. WOW.. this is unreal folks. I'm saying that you people who write a freakin book HERE to try & convince whoever (mostly yourselves I'd say) that you have a legitimate reason to take pain meds (prob a ton of them in high doses) should really take a hard long look at yourselves. Forget trying to convince the world that you're in pain & going on & on about all your diagnoses, it's pathetic.
Listen I know I don't sound sympathetic but really you have to look at things realistically. You are having a hard time obtaining your meds because there is a reason. You may be getting meds in a quantity & dosage that NO person usually gets & the pharmacist feels that they are putting their license on the line, and/or you display behavior that makes them question something.. Their A** is on the line if someone dies from the meds given out despite the fact it was ordered by your doctor. It doesn't matter who orders the damn med you cannot FORCE any to fork it over to you if it's a friggen life threatening mix or dose of meds, come on, get real.
Before you freak out & say 'oh you don't know.. I have ABC & XYZ wrong w me' 'WAAAAA' well guess what, I DO know & I won't go on & on wailing about my health issues. I'll tell you that I've suffered, yeah for sure, I was on pain med & quite a lot for quite a long time.. Did I EVER have problems filling my med? NO, NOT ONCE did I ever have a problem, no fighting w the pharmacy, no hating the pharmacist, nothing. I'm grateful that the pharmacy staff has been awesome & when I could barely make it to the desk to give them my script they knew I needed it & filled it right away. They never gave me a hassle. SO something's wrong w this whole picture here. FACE IT, what are you doing? Only you can answer that.
Am I still on drugs? NO. why? because face it, do you really think that staying on a ton of meds is the bottom line solution? Ya ok.. I know some who read this will say that they NEED meds forever, OK you need them now but look down the line. I know it sucks, it's hard, hell it's even scary to think of stopping them once you been on them a few years. I know. I was there. I thought I needed them too & would need them for good, but now I know that I don't. I'm not a slave to the friggen pills, do I have pain.. of course but I've been thru worse & I'll make it thru another day. Will I ever need pain meds again, most likely due to my medical issues but pain med is NOT the solution, it is a temporary fix when I'm in severe pain that is incredibly unbearable.
OK I said enough. Please people don't be all pissed at me, just think seriously & look at your situation & the pharmacy's point of view.
What is the point of writing all this crap on this forum? What good is it besides getting out some frustration maybe..
I'm sorry you have a problem w pharmacies & w pain but what is it telling you?
Get a grip, look for another solution. OK yup you'll be freakin out that I don't know what it's like. I don't want to hear it! Neither dose the pharmacy or anyone else.. FACE IT
