If you're in a clinic being treated with Methadone for an addiction issue, then doctors are going to be very leery of prescribing you any medication that also has to the potential to be addictive, which would include Xanax and all other benzodiazepines.
What else have you tried to treat your issues? There are several antidepressants that can be used to successfully treat these conditions, which don't carry the risk of being habit forming.
