I Am Needing A Doctor Who Prescribes Xanax With Methadone (Page 2)

I have been on methadone and xanax for 3yrs. and i missed my appointment to the doctor who prescribed my xanax 1mg four times a day but i only needed 3 1mg xanax daily and i'm needing a doctor in the middle tennessee area who feels comfortable with prescribing xanax with methadone.i suffer from severe traumatic axiety and panic attacks and i have tried all the benzo family since i was 9yrs old and nothing helped but the xanax 1mg and if anyone has any information about any doctors that will help me in the middle tennessee area please send a reply thanks

Well Jack, I don't know where your getting your information. Methadone is legal in all 50 States. Who told you its not legal? Now if your an addict its not legal for your doctor to write you an RX for pain. You need to go to a clinic. But it's a legal medication

I am prescribed methadone for pain and xanax for my severe anxiety. I take them as prescribed and I do not feel any euphoric effect. I work 12 hours a day 6 days a week and have a very fulfilled life. People who know me have no idea that I take these medicines. I'm a contributing member of society. So don't put everyone into 1 category. It's unprofessional.

I would rather see anyone on subs then any other opioids.im here to tell you it does work I was a bad addict on all the opioids including haroin subs saved my life it only takes a day for it to start to working you just cant take them both at the same time please just try it.it will save you from a world of hell or even death God Bless and good luck

Why are you calling these people junkies? If you are a doctor you wouldn't be using that term and instead using a term that a real doctor would use, like drug addict. Why don't you call the person a piece of s*** loser while you're at it?

I agree,what gives anybody the right to play god, especially this day an age it's not really a perfect world,why not give people what they need if makes them feel bit better,I wonder if the dear dr enjoys a wine every night to help him relax an play god the next day!! I'm in Australia same crap goes on here,whatever you do don't help people especially if they can't cope with all the crap in this world.

Wow why are u you calling someone a junkie if you don't know the circumstances? Just because someone takes methadone does not mean that they are a junkie. Just another stigmatized jerk for a dr. Would say such a thing methadone is given for different reasons. Yes, at time it was used for herion addicts to get off the drug, but times have changed. I was given methadone by my primary dr for crps and other health issues along with several back surgeries. Removed a tumor which was cancer but they were able to get it all. Been on it over 25 years and I do take ativan as well for anxiety and panic attacks, also have copd. And the lung dr give it to me so that when I have attacks it calms me. But I am no junkie. Not everyone who has to take pain meds or anxiety medication are considered junkies. Shame on you as dr. Sorry just saying thought u was a little out of line.

Good luck - I'm in the UK and u would have no chance of getting all that. They love giving methadone and subutex out but f*** me it's hard getting benzos. Took me a month to get diazepam. Only good thing is it's free.

By the way, it is unethical for any physical to make any diagnosis without evaluating a person.

You are a doctor so you should know this. You do not know what is causing the person to even have panic attacks, you just simply diagnosed it as panic attack disorder.

Come on man. You slept through medical school and I feel sorry for your patients with your attitude. You probably dont have any as you admit that you had an accident and are now doing nothing except playing doctor.

I really wish you'd stop using the word junkie so much. You seem to lump every addict together. There are some exceptions to patients on methadone needing certain benzos. Not everyone is looking to get high while on methadone. Just because you "sign off on these things everyday" doesn't mean you really know anything that didn't come from a text book. Don't generalize people or rather junkies as you call them. Many methadone patients went there for help and are doing everything they should.

It's hard for me to believe you are a Dr. Of any kind. Methadone is not just prescribed for drug addiction, it is also prescribed for chronic pain. No dedicated Dr.would refer to the person with this illness of addition as junkies.
