I Need A Physician In San Diego That Will Prescribe Methadone 10 Mg Pills

I have been on methadone/methadose maintenance for opiate dependence for approx. 6 yrs. At approx. the middle of this time I found a physician that prescribed me the methadone (40 mg a day) and it was great.
I did have to UA for him, etc. But it was SO MUCH better than a clnic. Can anyone recommend one in San Diego. The doctor I was seeing retired.

Hi David,

Thank you for the list of physicians, but I called them and they are licensed to prescribe Suboxone, not Methadone. Do you know any that can actually prescribe Methadone, not Suboxone?

Audrey-did you find someone yet?
Dr. Ross at north coastal mental health 1701 mission ave. Oceanside can is an addiction specialist who can rx methadone.

Have all your records. They ONLY treat those with previous substance abuse issues.

They also have a great sliding scale and can put you on free meds program if you're low-income.

Their pharmacy is inexpensive and will mail to your home monthly.

Compliance and UAs required.

But she's a very good doctor. No judgement-just help. Waiting list 4 weeks approx as of April '14.

Hi. I'm in a similar position n need to travel abroad. Have you found and local San Diego doctors who prescribe 40mg of tablet-form methadone yet?

I only know the methadone clinics to give out the 40mg wafers. They mix it w water or tang in front of you.

Hi Sara, I read your response and was wondering if you had to have a referral for this doctor and any other requirements. I have been in and out of rehab but now have been going to the clinic for a while. I have a full time job and help my fiancé with his business plus we travel a lot and it's a pain to go. I am looking for the same a dr to prescribe methadone pills I currently go to a clinic daily, but am needing to take care of some family business and i will be in another statefor a few weeks wouldn't be able to even curtesy dose, I'd be willing to drive to riverside or even Vegas if I had to, have you had any luck?

Hello, I'm currently in a Methadone program in San Diego CA. I used to get the Orange 40mg wafers distributed by Roxane pharmaceuticals pill imprinted 54 883. They also had the 10mg pills also from Roxane pharmaceuticals imprinted 54 142. They stopped carrying the pills and have been stuck on Methadone Liquid since, and it just doesn't work as well and last as long. Do any of you guys in a MMT program here in San Diego know of any clinic that still carry wafers and pills? I'm sick of having to think about raising my dose everyday because the liquid feels so weak compared to the tablets. I know my dose at 80mg is enough because when I was still on wafers and pills I was on 80mg and never thought about raising my dose. Please help. Thank you.

Please, anyone with any info on which Methadone clinics in San Diego still carry the pills and wafers? I'm tired of being on this Cheap Liquid Methadone that's not nearly as effective as the pills and wafers. I don't want to raise my dose just because this Liquid Methadone doesn't work well for me. 80mg of Liquid Methadone feels like 40mg of Methadone in pill form. I hate how these MMT clinics only care about making money and finding ways to make more profit and they do anything possible to do so. They Discontinued the pills and wafers because they were to pricey compared to the Liquid. Anything that is worth more, will be more effective. Perfect example of them forcing every patient to the Liquid form of Methadone.

I am looking for a doc who will prescribe oxy. in san diego AND one in TJ so I can get my meds legally in TJ. I have a pain mgt doc here in Texas but will be in SD with my Mother and will miss my P.M. appt.
I dont want to be seen as doc shopper, lost my health ins. In September and am self pay.
Thats why Im going to get meds in TJ
trying to do it legally.

Need help finding any doctor who will prescribe me methadone pills. I've been on MMT for 8 years and my reasoning is medical. Unfortunately do to a heroin OD a long time ago I have trouble swallowing and aspirating liquids. The OD and loss of oxygen left me with a Traumatic Brain Injury, leaving me with loss of coordination, memory and lack of simple things like swallowing. I am in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Counties. and need help badly. If any /doc could help I would be so happy. Thank you for your help.

I'm currently taking opiates and I have a sub doc. The problem is when on the subs I still want to take opiates. I'm 39yrs old and have been taking opiates since I was 15 and it's taking a toll on my body. My wife has helped me detox several times and I've completed 3 programs. I've done multiple prison terms and I always return to the drug. In 2011 I had a private doc giving me 120mg a day and I'd visit once a month but he told me the dea was on him and he started dropping my dose monthly and I stopped going and started self medicating. The times I've been able to be on the methadone ive been able to stay clean and function and my life was at its best. I'm located in Temecula, CA and willing to travel to get a script. Please help, I need a doctor not a clinic. Thanks.
