hello?? help please!!
You just described my addiction to a T! Listen DO NOT take any of that suboxone until you have gone AT LEAST 24 HOURS WITHOUT ANY OPIATES. Unless you really want to be sick. Do you have pills or strips? And what mg? I've been on subs for over three months ...maybe you should check into a sub program. If you need help yaking the first step, I'd seriously love helping someone else kick that shat. Subs gave me my life back. I know it sounds cheesy but its true. Reply back and let me know.
I'm gona tell you straight up too that a couple of subs aren't gonna help you kick opanas for good. I almost giggled at that...sorry. anyway! You had the same habit I did mine may have been a little worse but I'm in the sub program for AT LEAST TWO YEARS. Without that long an opiate user of our kind has a relapse rate of at least 85% soooo..lets start with the ones you have now and get you started back the right way :)...I seriously hope your sleeping right now. That was always the worst about withdrawal for me...no sleep and feeling like going hulk smash and dying at the same time.
I have 3 8mg pills of suboxen to help when the withdrawl starts. The person that gave them to me was a HEAVY USER and has been in the sub program for atleast 4 yrs now. My addiction is nowhere as bad as hers was so I don't think i need as much as she did when she started on the sub program. Ive tried to get ahold of a Dr. that specializes in addiction but none of them are accepting new patients AND i even have health insurance...makes NO SENSE TO ME AT ALL why I cant find help?!?!?!?! Anyway can you or anyone else with experience suggest how i should start taking these subs? Such as dosage?, how much time between doses? When or should I increase the dosage? how far along into the withdrawl process should i be before i start taking these? PLEASE SOMEONE WITH SOME KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS HELP ME?!?!?!
It's crazy that it takes something bad happening to receive help. Have you just done a Google search for sub doctors in or around your area. I know some people who drive hours away once a month to see their doctor. Just Google sub doctors in your state. Only some take insurance and a lot more people are looking into getting help so the quicker you call the sooner you get in there! If I was you with the ones you have now I would take some very very small amount to state out with. Please wait at least 24 hours since you last used to take any of the sub or it will throw you into PAWS. POST ACCUTE WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME. Let me know if you need any other info or help finding a doctor. :)
To take Suboxone, just as was already mentioned, you need to be in full withdrawal, or the Naloxone in it can induce dangerous withdrawals.
Learn more Suboxone details here.
And, the statement that that won't be enough is also correct. The dosage needs to be very carefully calculated and it is very slowly tapered, taking several years for most people.
Does anyone else have any advice or ideas to add?
i am hoping not to take it long at all....i dunno if its possible or a good idea but i just wanted to take it long enough to help me get through the opiate withdrawl then stop taking the suboxone once im sure enough time has lapsed. im thinking maybe 7-10 days of suboxone then stop. Is that possible??
Yeah it's possible but I would take as small as possible amount as possible and wait at least 24-48 hour between your last opiate use. You need to be in moderate withdrawal for suboxone to work right...I think I've said this already. But since you aren't going to plan on subs in the long term sense use only the minimum you can handle without being dope sick.
I am new to this site and have been reading thru some of the postings. It I very interesting to read some of the post. As a pain pill addict myself I have been taking opana 10mg IR for a year now and for the first time this month I ran short. But my friend also gave me a sub tablet 8mg to take to help my withdrawals. And I must say it works. But being I have not seen a doctor to be prescribed the sub which is dangerous to say the least but I have only been taking a quater of the sub tablet and it seems to be working with me just fine. But everyone is different so please be careful and don't start out with a half or even a whole cause a friend of mine did that and she became real sick. And someone did tell me to that there is something in the sub tablet that make some people sick. So please be safe but I strongly suggest starting off with a quarter of one until you know how it is going to react in you. The best of luck and God bless. Pain pill withdrawals is no joke and hard to beat.
I think every person who is on pain medication should have their doctor write them
a prescription for 1mg. or .05mg. clonidine tablets and perhaps something to relax your stomach. The clonodine is for heart palpations. They use it also for withdrawal symptoms. It would help with anxiety at least for 1 or 2 days if you run out until you can get an appointment.
