Please let me know if anyone is taking this drug and what effects if any its having on you or your loved one. ## Tommy, I don't know your situation and why it was prescribed. Here is what I do know. In September, 2005, my dad (88 years old) was diagnosed with Chronic Mylegenous Leukemia. The wonder drug that we were trying to get at the time was Gleevec which we were told had made significant medical breaththroughs in this type of cancer. However, my dad had no RX plan and it cost $1,432 (discounted) and we were waiting for a response from the distributor if we could get help in getting it. While we were waiting, my dad was prescribed Hydroxyuerea and he was taking 1000 mg twice per day for about 2-1/2 weeks when he, himself, refused all medication after being diagnosed with stomach...
