I take hydromorphone 4 mg tabs, my question is if I crush them and inject them will it show something different on a drug screen? ## You will test positive for hydromorphone on a urine drug screen, conditional on the fact that hydromorphone is the only substance you have taken (i.e If you smoked marijuana you will obviously test positive for that as well). This is due to the substance on the drug panel that you are ingesting, no matter what route of administration you take, it is still chemically hydromorphone. Hope this helps!

I hope to improve health wise, i'm on hydromorphone and would like to know what the next lower dose painkiillers will be,,thank u. ## Hello, Bug! How are you doing? There is a lower dose of Dilaudid available, there are 2mg tablets, not just the 4mg ones. Learn more Dilaudid details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And your doctor should be able to help you taper off of them, when the time comes. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Hi, while i appreciate that hydromorphone has many issues regarding tolerance, dependency and addiction, I do hope that as your pain subsides, you will unwittingly forget to take your pain meds so regularl...

When you take 8mg of hydromorphone for a long time, and you no longer take the pills, how many days does it take to be metabolized by the body? Wondering if and when withdrawals can happen? ## Hello, Tonya! How are you? The half-life of Hydromorphone, which is when it reaches only 50% of its level in your body is just around 4 hours, for oral dosing. Full elimination time takes 5 to 6 half-lives, so that would be 20 to 24 hours and withdrawal would likely start around that time. Withdrawal effects may include nausea, dizziness, insomnia, fever, chills, rebound pain and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

what is the difference between a 8mg hydromorphone and a 8mg dilaudid? ## Hello, Jimbo! How are you? From what you've listed, there is no difference. Dilaudid is just the name brand for Hydromorphone. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Where can I fill a prescription hydromorphone 2mg in the Dallas area? #120 ## Hello, Dot! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of pharmacies according to what medications they carry that I can refer to for you. The only way to find out is by actually going to the pharmacies, with the prescription in hand. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Has it been out of stock?

Which is stronger 2mg of Hydromorphone Or 500mg of tylenol? ## Hello, Karen! How are you? The Hydromorphone is a potent narcotic that is only available via prescription, so it is the stronger of the two. My fiancé has been receiving hydromorphone 8mg tablets for fibromyalgia and several herniated discs for over 4 years now. For most people in the same situation as my fiance and those who are prescribed similar medication for chronic pain know about the problems that are continuing to occur when filling theses particular medications. We are well aware of the epidemic and abuse of this medication and medications like it however his diagnosis' is legit as well as his prescriptions and we constantly have a difficult time filling his prescriptions. He works for bright house and does extremely hard work outside as a lineman and needs this medication to function at work and through daily activities. My doctor changed my dose from 6 mg extended release to 12 mg extended release. I hope this will help. How much 12 mg will be released in my system at once?? I take 2 every 12 hours. ## Hello, Chris! How are you? I'm sorry, but I have no information on the exact release rate of the ones you're taking. How are they working for your pain? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is morphine stronger than hydromorph contin. I use to take 100 mg of morphine, I've since had 6 major back operations and now have titanium rods from my pelvis up to my occupant so I no longer am able to move my head at all for it's fused to my body. I'm taking 24mg of hydromorph contin. It doesn't work for me and I was wondering if just morphine is stronger for pain? ## Hello, Terry! How are you? No, the Hydromorphone is much stronger. You only need 1.5mgs of it for every 10mgs of Morphine. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you consulted your doctor? Are you on any other medications, or just this one?

How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you had. However, there is really no definitive answer for this question, much of it depends on your body. Have you been taking anything for the itching?

The pills are in blister packs and on the back of the blister pack is stated" mon" "tues' etc. What are they for? ## Need more information from the tablet. Identify the numbers or letters on the pill it's self. But sounds like birth control tablets. ## Could also be a 24 hour extended release analgesic; blister packs of JURNISTA hydromorphone and MXL morphine also carry the days of the week. There is no alternative to visiting a pill identification site, though why it is not possible to tell from the blister which should carry both brand name and drug name is a mystery to me.

I take 4, 2 mg tablets every 8 hours. I find taking 8 mg at once works better, instead of 4 mg every 4 hours. Everyone is different i guess. Also taking 6mg extended release every 12 hours. ## Hello, Chris! How are you? What medication are you talking about? I'm sorry, but you didn't mention it or post this in any particular drug forum. :-) ## Sorry about that. I'm taking hydromorphone.

I had a righ neck dissection 2 weeks ago from thyroid cancer and also dealing from TMJ at the same time. TMJ pain so bad I can even explain it. Ear pain jaw pain face pain neck pain. 4 mg hydromorphone doesn't work every 4 hours for this pain. Anyone else dealing with this TMJ pain or thyroid cancer surgery?? I will be seeing my doctor next week to ask him what my options are for this pain. It's just not enough. ## Hello Chris! How are you? For the TMJ pain, your best bet would be to see a dentist, rather than your GP or surgeon. For the best results and best pain relief, you need someone that has been specially trained to deal with that. Do you grind your teeth at night? ## Hi Verwon. I do grind my teeth at night and use a mouth guard. It helps a little with pain. My dentist ju...
