Yes, you can take hydrocodone for any kind of pain. Just make sure you are taking your own medication & not someone else's. lol seriously, though, they have other meds for gout, Allopurinol which is for acute gout, the kind in a flare up, and colchicine, which is to control gout for the long term. I would talk to your doc about those first. But for temporary use, ask your doc about a low dose of hydro just til the flare up eases.
