Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 5/325 Efficacy

I got this prescribed for a tooth abscess. I took two in desperation but i feel my pain has increased since taking it... wtf seriously this is confusing. I was hoping to get some sleep but instead i am in major pain... I don't have time to go to the dr during the day bc of work.

Hello, Iza! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in so much pain.

It just might not be the right medication to alleviate your pain, not every medication works for every person that tries it.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Are you also on an antibiotic?

Yes penicillin, i noticed that the pain med takes about 5 hours and then my mouth is numb however the pain is still there

I've been taking hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 for the last 10 days due to a broken wrist surgery, and now I have a bathroom problem where every hour I feel very sick in my stomach with nausea.

What are the ingredients in hydrocodone/apap 5-325 tablets and what is the difference in percocet 5/325? Are both opioids?

I've been taking hydrocodone/acetaminophen (5/325) for 2 weeks but it doesn't seem to be working. What is the next step and should I ask my Dr if she could give me a higher mg like 7.5mg? What should I do?

Verwon (# 1) -- Surely you are feeling better by now. Years ago, I had an abscess on the weekend. I called my dentist and she said she would call in a prescription for a pain med. She advised me, however, that 800 mg of ibuprofen would probably help better She was right! 800mg is four extra strength OTC ibuprofen. It's the code a doctor prescribes. I have serious back pain and was on opiods for some time, up to 300 mg morphine per day. I find that for most pain, NSAIDS, like aspirin or ibuprofen, are b best because they have anti-inflammatory properties. The opiods doing really reduce the pain, they simply make it not be in your face, thereby making it more tolerable.
