There is no definitive pat answer that I can give you. It depends on the person, how well the medication works for you and how high your blood pressure is, plus if you're also coupling it with a healthy diet and exercise.
The FDA classifies this medication as a diuretic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension and dehydration.
It also must be taken regularly, just an occasional dose won't work.
Are you on any other medications? How high is your blood pressure?
