Im Marina Im 24 years old and a mother of 2 beautiul little boys. From the years 2006-2007 i was heavily addicted to Oxy 80 and eventually started doing herion. I got help in sep.2007 at a methadone clinic, it worked for as long as i was on the methadone i had NO relapse's. In June 2009 i was completly off of the methadone that first day that i was on 0Mgs I went through extreme withdrawls i went through things that i would never wish upon my worst enemy! i stayed that way for a day and a half and decided to go to a suboxone doctor. He put me on 32 mgs a day which i thought was pretty high of a dose but he explained to me that methadone withdrawls was worst then any other withdrawls. so i trusted him. Now when i go to see him every month i pretty much beg for him to start the weining process and start lowering me and he pretty much refuses. After months of being on 32mgs a day he finally started tapering me down slowly, i never really thought any thing of it till now but i realized he's keeping me on the suboxne for as long as posible so that he can get my $200.00 a month. all he is, is a legal drug dealer bc now im highly addicted to the suboxone. I recently had to go a few days with out my suboxone bc i didnt have the money to see him and i went through hell. i thought methadone withdrawl was bad OMG there is no comparison. i wanted to either use which i havent done in years or rip my face off lol its funny now but it definatley wasnt funny a few days ago while i was feeling that way! So i spoke to a good friend whos going through the same thing and he told me that they just came out with a new pill to get you off suboxone. I just want to know if that's true. I tryed googleing it but i cant find any thing. If you have heard of this new pill please respond or if you even have a good way to get off soboxone as painless and posible... thanx
Terrified blonde the dr that is giving you this sure way to get off suboxone is being honest i was offered the same exact treatment but i refused due to the fact that the reason i was put on suboxone was for being addicted to the norco but i will say this there is going to be some WITHDRAWAL symptoms they want be so severe that you cant handel them and get over them with a little willpower i know by now you know suboxone is not and does not help with pain so with that being said when you go through withdrawal one of the feelings is pain body aches and i promise you that will go away quickly do whatever makes you feel better hot bath heating pad whatever this is just temporary it will pass i have taken morphine and the norco both if you keep to his plan you will be ok a little will power and faith will get you past this im not a dr and no one on here is we can only give you our opinion and experience im in the process of trying to ween myself off the suboxone myself i dont want to do the pain medicine way it just scares the hell out of me my addiction was pain killers so i dont want to go back to that lifestyle i have been on 16mgs of suboxone for over 1.5 years and its taking me a little to do this but im not gonna give up. I hope this helped if i can help further ask if i dont know ill find out for you thanks and God bless
Why doesn't anyone on this forum help by answering heartfelt questions and much needed answers and Support at a time when we are all so scared?
Hi Robert, thanks for your response and for sharing your story. I don't know anything about the medicine your Dr put you on (Opana?), but did you have any withdrawals? What do you think about the Morphine er 30mg and the 10/325 Norcos that my pain mgmt Dr is putting me on? Will this really keep me from having wd's? I picked up my prescriptions yesterday but I'm scared to do this, although my Dr says there's nothing for me to be scared of and I know he hasmy best interest at heart also. Robert, or ANYONE who has any experience with this, PLEASE reply to my post, Why am I so scared?! My Pharmacist also agrees that this is a GREAT WAY TO GET OFF SUBS WITHOUT SUFFERING ANY WITHDRAWALS
I went to two PM doctors to help me get off Subs. I went to the second PM doctor because I didn't believe what the first PM doctor told me. Both of them wanted to put me on Opana ER and wean me down. I asked both doctors if I wasn't just replacing one narcotic for another and they both told me yes, but it is much easier to get off of the Opana ER than it is the Suboxone. They said the half-life is much shorter with Opana and after about two months of being on Opana ER, I have now went from 15 mgs. twice a day to 10 mgs. twice a day. The doctor said next month he may start me on 5 mgs, but he will determine that when he sees me again. He really has my best interest at heart, or at least I think he does. So far, so good.
Hi Susan, and everyone else here who are getting off Subs! I just got a new and very reputable Pain mgmt Dr and this wonderful Dr is getting me off Subs by using Norco every 4 hours and 30mg of Morphine er twice per day. (I never had any previous addictions, I was put on 12mg of Subutex per day 3 years ago by a QUACK work comp Dr that gave it to me for pain) Now that I realize that I was never supposed to have been on it and that it's used to help people with addictions, I'm FURIOUS at the Dr who put me on Subs! My question is for ANYONE to please tell me if you've ever gone from 8mg of subs directly to morphine er and Norcos, as my new pain mgmt Dr PROMISES ME THAT THE MORPHINE er AND THE NORCOS WILL KEEP ME FROM HAVING "ANY WITHDRAWALS". Our plan is one month of these drugs while the subs leave my body with no wd's and then a 2 week taper off of the Norcos and Morphine er. Any and all experience and advice is greatly appreciated as I'm starting this tomorrow and I've never taken morphine, btw, my new pain Dr says this is a FOOL PROOF WAY TO GET OFF SUBS WITH NO WITHDRAWS, MOST DR'S DON'T TELL YOU THIS BECAUSE THEY WANT THE MONEY THEY GET FROM THE EXPENSIVE SUB PROGRAM! Please respond, I'm TERRIFIED of wd's, Thanks and GOD BLESS:-):-)
Hey susan im not a doctor but i get the feeling that your substituting one for another the object is to get off this stuff i had a very bad experience with lyrica i was on it for a few months and my family said i was a walking zombie i truly have no memory of it if i was you i would try my best to do without eventually you will feel better and have the best quality of life i have been fighting addiction for about a year now trying to get clean of everything i was taking 20-30 1000mgs norco a day it started 15 years ago with a back surgery i still worked until a few years ago i worked for 25 years and had to retire due to another surgery that put 2 6in rods 10 pins and 10 skrews i got really badd abusing the pills but now for the past1.5 years i have been ttaking 2 8mgs suboxone a day it beats the hell out of 20-30 pills a day but now im trying to ween myself off suboxone its going very slow but im going to do it my pain level is getting better day by day and i feel better than i have in years i know you think you need something and as i said im not a dr they will probably give you whatever you want but be honest with yourself do you truly need it try your best to live without it try for awhile and see if things get better give it a honest chance i think in the long run you will see your better off without
Please....I'm going to my doc Thu.
I don't know what I should ask for....should I switch from valium to xanax? What about gabapentin v. lyrica? I also read about toradol (NOT tramadol).
Went and got the SAM-E, Vitamin B Complete Complex and the drink mix. I've been taking it for 3 days so I'm not sure if it's helping yet.
I need some advice because I'm now down to 1.75mg and basically laying around most days. I really don't want to sleep for months getting off of this stuff.
I'm also considering taking a low dose of darvocet and skipping days of sub and going down faster. Does anyone have any advice on this? I mean, it's like my whole world revolves around my next dose. To make matters worse, I don't have a job or kids (I'm looking for a job) so the depression is awful. I know some of you are suffering much worse, but there's something about when you get down past 2mg or at 2mg that just makes you feel like wanting to jump off a bridge!!!!
I'm also planning on asking my doc for lexapro in addition to wellbutrin for the depression. I heard a girl in IOP tell me it worked for her & we are basically on the same "regimine".
Just need to know:
Should I stay on valium?
If I'm on 9 400mg gabapentins a day, what dose would be appropriate if I switched to lyrica? Also, would it be better?
Anyone had any success with toradol?
I was a heavy pill add. And used sub. To take me away from that life. 3 years later I started cutting the suboxone films into small pieces little by little until they were very small and my withdrawal symptoms seem to be very mild
Hi,
I'm also from Ohio--Columbus. I'm 33 and have moved in w my parents. After going to jail and being off subs (I was on 8mg) for 6 days (they did give me my gabapentin which practically saved my life), I went down to 3mg. I gave my subs to my Mom completely. We went to the doctor. for one last visit and told him I was taking 6 milligrams so I got around 90 2mg strips (plus we had some of the 8mgs from before I went to jail). I'm currently on a 10 day taper. I take both and valium but I think I'm going to go to my doctor and ask for lyrica because I heard it was stronger--and possibly xanax. My Mom has complete control over the strips and all my meds bc otherwise I know I would just take a ton of them.
I'm planning on asking her to get me some of the SAM-E and Amino Acid Supplement. But, does anyone have any advice regarding lyrica v. gabapentin? Right now I'm taking 8 neurontin a day (sometimes 9). I heard lyrica is stronger, plus I would be taking less pills. Anyone have any advice?
I also know this may be TMI, but I heard enemas (coffee and tea ones, esp, not store bought), help alot.
My bf and I are going away for the weekend and my Mom is letting me take 2.25-2.5mg for the weekend just so I'm not running to the bathroom or feeling like crap. We figured 3 days won't make much difference in regard to the taper.
My main problem is lack of energy and occasionally I will get hot flashes. I have been on subs for 4 yrs. BECAUSE OF KRATOM (so pls be careful with that stuff--it's like H) and pills. If you use Kratom to get off subs do it sparingly or you will just get addicted to it. Oddly, during the 4 yrs I was on subs, I starting doing coke and crack. I had to then go to rehab for that. Never, in the whole time I was doing pills did I ever think I would put a needle in my arm or smoke crack. Ironically, it was moving back to Ohio and making "friends" in rehab that cost me all this. Before, I had no criminal record, a college degree, and a great job in DC. I was a "functional addict". When I moved home, I got on subs and was "clean" for 3 years and last April, I ran into some drug friends and BOOM, my life was in shambles again. I ended up in jail and realized what I had done to my life. I am now determined to get off subs and my Mom has me tapering thru April. We will have some subs left in case I need a sliver.
In any case, does anyone have any advice on changing up gabapentin to lyrica? I've been on gabapentin for so long, & I know you get used to it fast. I was thinking during this hard time lyrica may help bc it's stronger? Any thoughts on valium v. xanax? BTW, I've dropped my sub dr. so all this would have to be done thru my primary care doc.
Thanks for help and advice!!
Does valium help during tapering or after stopping subs, is it safe combining w subs in your system?
What's ur secret man. Want to kill myself. These wd symptoms are redic.
I would love to be able to do the ibogaine thing.... can't afford it though. I can barely afford the suboxone.
I was on Suboxone for about a year. I could not get off of them. I had weaned down to .5 mg I could even funtion on .25 mgs but could not get any lower and still function. I did a 21 day methadone program. The entire cost was 230$ I never missed a day of work. At the end of that I had a few days of restless leg syndrome. But that is about it. As I mentioned I got off Suboxone and did not miss one day of work. Everyone is different. Maybe it doesn't work for everyone. But that is how I did it. Good luck and God Bless.
I just want tp say thankyou to everyone for sharing their advice. I have been a methadone clinic for almost fifteen years. I was so ready to get off. I only recently found out about suboxone due to the fact that meth clinics do not let u know about it. Anywas from advice given on this site i did a fifteen day detox for mhself on suboxone to get off the methadone. I actually have been iff both meth n sub for three days. I've been taking one a day vitamins, melatonin vitamins for sleep, n tramadol fir aches n pains cuz i was fortunate enough to have some. Anyways day three n I'm feeling somewhat normal. In all reality it was time for me too get off cux my doctor messed up my sub prescription with the pharmacy, n i would have been waiting ten days extra without any sub. I'm finally free n just thank u all for your advice evev if it wasn't for me, i used it. Thanks again. B strong everybody if i can do it anybody can :-)
I know this is an old post, but if you want to go to an inpatient facility to detox from Suboxone, try Town & Country Hospital in Tampa. They will do what you want, but it is still all up to you. They will give you the necessary drugs to keep you calm and help with the wd's, but it still won't be easy, just easier than going cold turkey. Good luck and God Bless.
I have heard from alot of ppl that tapering is the way to go. Taper slow as possible. And its true if you have plenty of time and help. Im going to taper to about a .5 dose and jump. The first 36 hrs ill try and do nothing but hydrate and eat as much as possible. After that valium. Now ppl will say that thats subsisting one for another but I have no dependence on on benzos so no worry there. I was told 10 to 20 mg every 4 to 6 hrs the first few days and youll be ok and ill try it and let u know
I am also able to say that you are able to get off Suboxone. Even though the good news is that it is possible it doesn't do you good to believe it is easier than it is.. The battle is too hard and too low and is easy to lose hope. It's to easy to believe your stuck, you grasp for any sign of it ending and when a timeline for someone else doesn't happen the same way you will give up... so the though the good new is that it is possible, It is hard and it sucks balls.. pain/fatique physically and emotionally .seems like it will never go away... At least not for you.. You can't explain it to someone that hasn't gone through it. Even though you might be feeling a little better it sucks in other ways.. But hear me.. it does end... You will win. You have to fight it with a lone survivor mentality that it will not survive and you will. In you life it will be a match for the ages... but remember it's only a matter of time. and then looking back after many years of clean and FREE living you see that those couple months of misery was worth being free for life...
The 30 day mark seems to be a rough turning point for the better also roughly day 45, Also Day 60.. After day 60 roughly it can be much better but the effects will linger... small ones you think maybe you are just that way now... but it will all go away towards 6- 12 months... mine lasted about 12 months even a few months after :)
Hello, if you are reading this you are thinking of stopping suboxone or had to jump off too quickly. I was on suboxone for 6 years. I jumped off at 4 mg per day. I felt my worst at day 4 through day 12(RlS,sweats,fuzzy head feeling, diarreah etc.). After that I had cravings that happened a few times a day but only lasted a few minutes for about four months. After 4 months I had no more cravings. Its been 2 and a half years since ive came off suboxone and I feel normal and happy. You can do it too! I promise :)
Can't message u dear it was edited for privacy ... Sorry .. It looks like u will have to ask ur questions here... I finally figured that out too.. I wanted someone to message me also..
