How Soon Would I Feel Effects For Gabapentin Tapering Down
UpdatedPrescribed as a added medication for anxiety/depression. If I feel it's giving me side effects would it be suggested to taper off 100mg per a nightly dose of 1000mg? Been taking this for 5 years.

That's actually a very high dose and you've been taking it for a very long time, thus a 100mg reduction might be too much.

What types of side effects is it causing? It would be odd to experience them after such a long period of time.
Have you consulted your doctor?
They'd be best able to guide you on a safe tapering schedule. Since this is an anticonvulsant, tapering down too fast could put you at risk of seizures, so it's not safe to try to play with it on your own.
