Does fentanyl show up in urine and if so how long after stopping does it show up?

Everyone has their own opinions of s***. I'm on probation and have a regular 12 panel test and have been dirty 3 times for fentanyl because of dope that is cut with it. It all depends on the person.

No it will not show up that is a lie unless they test for it specifically. Trust me I have done it personally.

You are absolutely incorrect. Fentanyl has its own test. Fentanyl would not show up on a any panel drug screen.

I have been on every pain med in the world over the past 15 years (3 back surgeries) I recently went from 60mg oxy x 2 and 15mg Roxi x 3 per day to 50mcg fentenyl and after 48 hrs would start withdraws and the patch would appear to be empty. I read the info packet that came with the patches and it states that a active individual may have to be prescribed change intervals at 48 hrs instead of 72 hrs and when you think about it heat activates the patch someone that lays around vs someone outside and active would make a huge difference. As for the guy who stated the patch would come off after the shower and be useless should look into a 3M Healthcare 1626W Tegaderm Transparent Adhesive Film Dressing I use them and have no problem with them coming off no matter what.

Phentenol is speciifc test all in itself, it wont test positive on a 5 8 12 or 20 panel screen. Methadone clinics got wise n started phemtanol screens once monthlky- the test is very expensive . Also suboxen is a special test not on the norma strips- i know from dealimg with a actual lab.

Good info!! Sounds like you know your stuff! My husband has to drive 3 hrs, 1 way to get his patches. We can't find a dr near our home town to help him!! We are in Picayune Ms 39466 thanks ahead for Any help finding a dr that will write his medicine and something for break through pain TYVM

I have an appt FINALLY TO C THE SUB DOC TODAY. THEY TOLD ME WHEN I COME IN I HAVE TO SHOW UP DIRTY FOR OPIATES. AND IVE BEEN EATING ONLY SUBS EVERYDAY FOR OVER TWO YEARS. I HAD A QUARTER OF A 25MG FENTENAYL PATCH AND I CUT IT IN HALF AND CHEWD ON IT LASTNIGHT FOR ABOUT 45 MINS, JUST SO I CAN HAVE A POSITIVE DRUG SCREEN. SO WILL IT B IN MY URINE TODAY WHEN I SEE THE SUB DOC?

I took a UA at my Dr.'S and the UA came back stating I had twice as much fentnyl in my system then was suppose to be. This is impossible because I NEVER put on too many patches or change my patch to early. How is this possible?? Can my system just matobolize fentnyl different? Very concerned??

Opioid-opiates are the same. Fentanyl is synthetic, very similar to meriperdine or demoral but 200 times stronger. Opiates they are now considered 1 and the same in Canada and US. Originally they were opioids and for instance would cover fully synthetic drugs, now they cover all even semi-synthetics (oxy-semi), (fentanyl-synthetic), (morphine-opiate).

Yes, the patch will show up as well as a fentanyl pill IF they send it out to a lab. I'm in pain management and almost got kicked out of the program but got a one time pass. The outside labs do extensive testing if you're in pain management. Only question I don't know is if you only use one patch and get tested 3 weeks later does it still show. Don't know how long what quantity takes to get out of your system but if your pain management uses ad an outside lab that is a world of difference than a dip stick.

I recently took a drug test and my doctor told me I test positive for fentynal, the only time I was giving a strong drug was before and after surgery which was on September 25th I'm totally confused on how this was in my system I do not take any medication that's not prescribed for me how did this happen

Opiods show up the same as opiates on drug tests. . The only difference is that Fentanyl is synthetic, (produced in a lab,not from the poppy plant). Also, fentynal , like most drugs ( which are all foreign to the body), is stored in all fat cells, which release a certain amount regularly. Therefore, it is very difficult to pinpoint how long it will show up on a urine test,(which have many degrees of accuracy). Check it out all you M.D. wanna-be know-it-alls!

Brett and this lady. you guys are wrong. Stop spreading misinformation when you really have NO idea what your talking about. ALL of it can potentially be tested for, true and no one is debating that. If you are a nurse w/ said masters degree then your an incredibly uneducated and an arrogant nurse when it comes to this kinda thing. Synthetic, man made opiates that are not a derivative of the poppy plant have to be specifically tested for. So for example codeine, morphine,herion will all show positive on a cup test for opiates. But say you used fetynal, hydro, oxy they would not show up on a cup test for opiates. Though they will show up when sent to the lab for a more thorough test that specifies those drugs. And some cup tests both oxys and opiates on the cup. I know this is a super old thread but I can't stand people like you.

Hey there, I'may on a very high dosage of of pain medication, I am on 3 X 100mg patches of Fentynal every 72 hrs and 2 to 4 dilaudid per day and I live in Canada where they've started a patch exchange program,you have to bring the pharmacist 30 used patches on paperwork provided by the government to get your next prescription issued. So what am I supposed to do if I loose a few in the shower or whatever? It's ridiculous people who have no business using certain meds are making the lives for those who are in legitimate pain almost impossible there's no trust because of people who have abused it

Fentanyl is a opioid and it most definitely WILL show up on a drug test I get drug tested every month, once a month. I chewed on a patch and failed for opiates.opioid still shows as opiates im 100% sure of that from experience.

Noticed you complain about your Fentanyl Patch coming off early. I have a trick that works quite well. If you apply the patch to your skin (I find the back of the shoulder the best place) with a TEGADERM bandage on top of it (tegaderm is just the brand name for a clear light adhesive bandage - like they use on top of i.v.'s). The tegaderm will provide a larger adhesive area, which is waterproof. And the Fentanyl patch will stay on until you take it off! Also, are yo suffering from patches of adhesive left behind on your skin from the fentanyl patch?? The tegaderm helps provide a hermetic seal between the fentanyl and your skin - in other words your natural skin moisture remains intact. Bottom line is the patch gets a little wet and this eliminates the adhesive transfer that happens using the patch alone.
