Prozac contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, it is used to treat various mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, nervous disorders, and panic attacks.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood changes, and insomnia.
However, it is not typically known to cause weight gain, or weight loss.

The typical side effects start to wear off once you are on one steady does for about 4 to 6 weeks, and your body starts to get used to the medication. They should gradually taper off, until most of them disappear entirely.
How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
You may be experiencing worse symptoms than usual, due to stopping one medication, and starting a new one.
I was told to stop Cymbalta after 3 years/it stopped helping and just start Prozac 20mg. I was so nervous couldn't sit still very panicky this morning. I was so afraid to start taking it and don't know why. I had to do something b/c I was getting more and more depressed. Please someone give me some great news about this med. I can't afford to gain weight either. Please Please tell me something good.
