How Long After Taking Oxy Can I Take Subox

I have been addicted to oxy for almost a decade. My wife just had a baby about a year ago and I want to get off of these horrible things. I am completely out of oxy and I have an appointment to see a doctor in about a week but I was able to get a few Suboxone. I'm trying to find out how long I have to wait between my last oxy and taking the Suboxone. I am the sole provider in my family and I have to go to work tomorrow so I'm trying to make the withdrawal process as short as possible. I have been taking 100 mg of oxy a day. Can anyone please help

Hello, Tim! How are you? I'm so very glad that you've decided to get the help you need.

You have to be in full withdrawal, before you can take Suboxone, otherwise it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

The best thing to do would be to wait and see the doctor, then follow their instructions.
