I was diagnosed with impacted bowels today and prescribed 290 mcg of Linzess. My pcp indicated this would get my bowels cleaned out (that I would basically have diarrhea until I am cleaned out) and then I will use it for maintaining good bowel movements. I am wondering how long it will take for it to start working for the cleanout as I need to go back to work but can't until I get this process over.

It has passed the same FDA panel for approval as other medications used for the same or similar conditions.
However, the only way to see if it will work for you is by actually trying it.
Have you started it, yet?
