How Can I Get Subutex Not Suboxone? (Page 4)
(Newest replies first)

I don't know how to go about this as I am shaking and can barely focus, I need help! Please. I fear that my life is going to end from my abuse of opiates. I am currently taking 250 mgs of oxycontin per day. I have a loving fiance and a stepdaughter that I want to be here for. I sit here with cold sweats, and fear going out just because I may make the fearful turn to the meds. Any and all info on how to obtain Subutex would be much appreciated. This wasn't what I wanted my life to be, and I can not let it end this way..Please help me. I am not a religious man but I pray for help as I am at my wits end with this drug.

K: Hopefully your doctor will give you the Subutex, but if not you may have to go to the emergency room and get documentation that you are having a "reaction" to the Naloxone. Get what I am saying?

Dani you are so right a few bad apples give us all (those of us serious patients) it angers me to no end the craziness I see and hear obout those of us who take suboxone or subtext ..or any other maintanence drug .some of us just can't do it with out this crutch each of us are different what works for one might not work for all what really gets me is those who seek ways around this system to keep this safety net to keep from being dope sick between fixes or calming they are prescribed both subs and opiates get real people if your serious drop the opiates or steel drugs and work on sobriety or get out of the way for those who are dying to get better it hurts to sit in my waiting room at my Dr and hear the others discuss ways to slip throught when n it took me months to get there because other abuse their spot when they aren't ready god bless guys and good luck

DANI: Amazing isn't it? I can understand the patients not understanding how Subutex/Suboxone works, but the doctors? I work with a couple of great Addiction Specialists, and they shake their heads when I tell them some of these stories. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist/partial antagonist opioid. Meaning that the Bupe itself can throw you into withdrawals. Meaning that even though Subutex has no Naloxone, it can still screw you up big time if taken at a high enough dose along with opioids. I know this from research AND personal experience. To read about doctors actually prescribing Bupe to someone to whom they have already prescribed full-agonist opioids is just mind blowing to me. Take care Dani.

kkh is dead-on correct here & I am outraged, as somebody in suboxone maintenance for almost 6 years, and though i've not taken subutex i am well informed of it, as i have tired of the no-longer, what was excellent therapeutic benefit of suboxone in the film form, which is all i can have covered with my current health plan, and i get regular nasty headaches from the suboxone so i tend to take an exederine shortly after my film dissolves, to try to ward off the headache as best i can before it starts to kick in and escalate.I don't know which is more alarmingly asinine - one being that a doctor misinformed you on the preposterous theory that one can still feel euphoric while on opiates and also taking subutex, or worse yet that you just thought this up yourself, because you sure as heck didn't read this in any pharmacodynamic literature. Both suboxone and subutex are initial for the physical withdrawals of whatever your drug of choice was, after that mere week or so, the rest is ALL ABOUT STAYING IN A COMMITTED CHOICE OF RECOVERY. This is exactly the kind of crap that makes it harder for those of us who choose to use these medications correctly, subjecting us to scrutiny and condescending, snotty attitudes from ignormus pharm techs.

All I want is my tramadol back. I took it for many painful years. I was diagnosed in 2009 with fibromyalgia and took it for years until a couple months ago I failed a drug panel for marijuana and now I am utterly sick and in severe pain. How is that right Barbara Tackett at Little River Medical? I didn't do anything wrong. I was in the hospital and I was diagnosed with severe bulb disc in my neck and degenerative disc disease and then all the sudden they take me off my meds and I don't know how much I can take. Please help me, she's out of Myrtle Beach South Carolina and I told her about the medicine they gave me from the hospital and she had actually acted like she forgot what I said and I swear I said it.

Howdy guys n ladies, I do believe it would have to be a typo, I too had a methadone experience at our local clinic. I was raised to 197 mgs. Which was debilitating. I'm not a fan of it. It works for some and not for others. I regret to this day I went that high. Even small doses (30 to 60 mgs or mgds or mgls what ever they call it) is very hard to withdraw from. It seems to take approximately 3 months to get over it. I'm hoping the suboxone is not that difficult. I don't seem to be able to get off the pharmaceutical opiate without a crutch. God bless you all n I'm grateful for this site and all the info I get from it.

Wow dude, 750?!? Ya no one will take you and suboxonrs ceiling effect wont touch that. You need to wean down to like 40 mg to be able to switch to subs. A doctor has u prescribed on that?!? I hope you meant just 75

TINKERBELL: I'm thinking that's a typo. 750mgs of Methadone would kill someone.

Hello guys hope every one is doing OK all this talk of using while on suboxone or subtext is crazy ppl wanting one instead of the other ,precipitated withdrawal n all headaches bad taste I mean come on guys if you are physically and chemically dependent on opiates or street drugs think about it Wichita is worse a bad taste or prison ,death or the unspeakable things we do and have done to feed that beast weigh your priorities guys common sense says a bad taste is better than death or prostitution or theft and death get right use this drug correctly LIKE THE DOCTOR SAYS or let a person who is serious about life take your place in the clinic their are people literally and physically DYING to get a slot in these clinics. God bless

750mg of methadone??? I think it's safe to say that that much would most likely kill you and there's not a doctor on this planet that would or is even allowed, to prescribe a person that amount. If you are truly taking that much off the street, I really pray your not, but damn you're lucky to wake up each day! I will pay that you quickly get the help you are seeking from a doctor who will give you suboxone.

CHOOKY: You REALLY need to do some more research before posting nonsense on here. The reason I wanted Subutex rather than Suboxone is because the Naloxone exacerbated the chronic migraines and nausea I was already suffering. NOT because I wanted to "keep using"....since it is no easier to "keep using" on Subutex than it is on Suboxone.

Idk much except I'm an addict who doesn't want to be. I have CPTSD, bipolar with mania, insomnia, ADHD, on n on with mental health from abuse n trauma from a very young age thru recently. I know I've gone inpatient a few times now n although weak n I do go thru the withdrawal more comfortably n I feel more not crazy n hopeful to get better. When I get out n start my suboxone from a clinic I feel literally like I'm sick all over again but worse n my mental health symptoms go even more crazy. I talk to the doctors n go thru this for 1 to almost 3 months was the longest without help relief or advice as to What's happening to me. The only thing I know is that the meds inpatient don't do that to me n I've done everything to try to solve this problem. A doctor recently suggested I was illergic to the medication n just stopped prescribing it n said they were not licensed to give me anything else. I found out that subutex is what they give me inpatient n I know suboxone is what I get at these clinics that cost me hundreds of dollars a month to become crazier n sicker.

CHOOKYGIRL: Why do you think you can take opioids along with Subutex and not Suboxone? Let me guess....because the Naloxone is an "opiate blocker", correct? Well, please stop dispensing mis-information because you are wrong. The Bupenorphine is a partial-agonist, partial-antagonist opioid, which means the BUPE ITSELF is a "blocker". You can not "abuse opioids along with Subutex", unless you consider hard-core precipitated withdrawals to be part of the fun. I sincerely hope no one listens to what you just wrote, because you are going to send someone into a bad rattle.

Subutex will let you keep using opiates, Suboxone will not. Why exactly are you asking for Subutex specificially?? THese days, not many doctors will prescribe Subutex for that very reason, it allows people to keep using opiates as it does not contain naloxone. Are you being really honest with yourself about WHY you are wanting this??
