How Can I Get Subutex Not Suboxone? (Page 12) (Top voted first)

Updated

I don't know how to go about this as I am shaking and can barely focus, I need help! Please. I fear that my life is going to end from my abuse of opiates. I am currently taking 250 mgs of oxycontin per day. I have a loving fiance and a stepdaughter that I want to be here for. I sit here with cold sweats, and fear going out just because I may make the fearful turn to the meds. Any and all info on how to obtain Subutex would be much appreciated. This wasn't what I wanted my life to be, and I can not let it end this way..Please help me. I am not a religious man but I pray for help as I am at my wits end with this drug.

hey i know what you are saying....looking for that "quick fix", being sneaky; its the nature of the beast with addiction. my point was that my doctors dont have anything i want or need to feel "high". so i have no need to "con" my doctors out of anything. absolutely no need. i dont have any fake back injuries that im trying to "medicate", nor do i "doctor shop", nor do i have 5 different drs. giving me different pills. theres half a bottle of vicodin in our medicine chest from when my hubbs broke his shoulder. been there for months and ive never even touched it, its not my thing. my dr. gives methadone, and i am on the proper dose. i am not craving constantly, im not in withdrawal, but im not getting loaded off of it either. people with opiate tolerances dont really get "loaded" off of too much methadone, they just get sleepy. been there, not my thing. so again, i have no reason to "con my doctor". that so-called doctor that commented below? sorry, but his one-size-fits-all, cookie cutter style of treatment doesnt always work. life isnt black and white like that, its many, many shades of grey. my dr. even stopped giving me UAs because if i use, i just tell him! so some narcissist telling me im a liar just because "all addicts do this" and "all addicts say that"...it really doesnt matter to me. and he keeps saying whether i think he is a doctor or not is irrelevant to him, yet he puts all his specialties and credentials, trying to prove it to me. so which is it? if he can help people get clean, thats all that matters. but him saying he "wouldnt have me as a patient"? well that works for me b.c. i wouldnt have him for a dr. i am an individual, not a "typical junkie" popped out of a mold. and all the narcissim, condescention, insults etc? its not only unnecessary, its kinda pathetic. arguing with and trying to prove himself to an addict. i mean, he's supposedly a doctor; what does he care what some junkie thinks? i think about my drs., and they would NEVER get into some argument with an addict on a drug forum, listing their credentials, trying to prove themselves. i mean, really? but in the end, if he is helping even one addict stay off junk, then thats a good thing.

good luck in your quest to stay healthy. i know how you feel and how you struggle, believe me.

really?? i had no idea. when i was on buprenorphine, i was on subutex rather than suboxone, and yes it was fairly inexpensive. (i could not tolerate the naloxone and was switched to subutex after about 10 days) so its the naloxone that must be pricy, since my subutex was less than 20 dollars a month with insurance. thats a shame. what is the price difference if i may ask?

I live in Tallahassee and the Tallahassee Memorial Behavioral director said my son, who has medicare/Medicaid is a good candidate for their Suboxone program. So, he was living in the woods in Kentucky where he was receiving his Suboxone, but, said he could come to Tallahassee and he'd be hooked up. Well, they would not accept him and nobody else is either. He was on Suboxone for eight years. He is in so much pain that he will take sometimes 60-90 Neutrons at one time and will still be hurting. He of course blames me, because I believed that director. He is also dually diagnosed. I feel so heartbroken.

Hello? the naloxone didnt "keep you honest"...all it does is keep you from administering the bupe. intravenously. so again, i ask you, how does taking subutex rather than suboxone keep a person from wanting to get clean? you make no sense.

you need to contact every buprenorphine doctor, every mental health professional, every addiction specialist you can and MAKE THEM HELP YOU! have you gone online to look up the buprenorphine doctors in your area? called every single one of them? you are just going to have to be the squeakiest wheel you can be until someone listens. being in the south may be tough with this...i am dealing with this in california and colorado, where the attitude re: addiction is a bit more liberal. even tho florida is passing out opiate meda like m&ms. good luck to you and dont give up! go on the bupe dr. registry online and call every friggin doc on there is you have to!

btw, what is a "neuron"? forgive me, i have not heard of that one.

The whole reason they give you suboxone rather than subutex is so you dont take the subutex intravenously. YOU CAN NOT TAKE SUBUTEX SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH OTHER OPIATES OR YOU WILL GO INTO PRECIPITATED WITHDRAWALS! gawd, i wish you would figure that out already.

Subtext got me off of OxyContin after 9 years of use. So I know it works. You need to talk to your doctor and you must be honest with him. A pain management doctor would be best. I have been on sub for the last nine years because I am still having chronic pain due to 4 hip replacement surgeries. If you have a history of chronic pain getting the Rx from the doc should not be a problem. Good luck

I believe it. He can be a friend of mine. Was taking 900 mg of oxycodone a day for months. His tolerance just got so high. That's what he needed to feel its effects. Very sad. He's in prison now for stealing scripts from his Dr n forging them for oxy.

I no all about opiate addiction. I've been to 5 methadone clinics n every detox/rehab clinic at least twice. I no what works for me n for the first time in like 15yrs I don't want methadone or opiates or really suboxone or subutex. just want to stop it all. I've paid over 13k on methadone for 3n a half yrs. I'm done with the methadone. now I need come off the opiates that I've only been on for a month. Subutex works for me. If I have 6 or 7 I can wean myself off. What works for one does not work for everyone.

you are 100 percent correct, what works for you is different than what works for someone else. its a shame that these methadone clinics charge so much. 13k for 3 years of methadone is a damn shame. my methadone pills cost about 15 dollars a month, and 30 for the doctor visit. so 45 a month total. those clinics are a business, and they certainly have a vested interest in keeping you hooked on methadone. i wish you luck in getting off of all opiates. i wish i had the strength to do it. stay strong.

Have you gone on this website? You put in your zip code and a list of suboxone docs will come up. That's how I found my wonderful doctor 6 years ago.

I am on subutex 16 mg a day and no I do not feel high at all. I take them as directed and it's because I am allergic to the naloxone in suboxone. And I am prescribed neurontin 600 mg once a day with it as we'll. So before you go assuming that everyone who wants subutex just wants to feel high you are so very wrong. Also I'm not gonna lie, before I got help I was on subutex for almost 3 years and when I couldn't find a subutex suboxone didn't help me at all not to mention I would take it knowing I swelled up like a stuffed pig and got hives like crazy but when your desperate your desperate!!!!! Anyways the whole point of my reply was to inform you that HELLO YEAH WE WHO CHOSE TO USE DRUGS DOES NOT AND I REPEAT DOES NOT MAKE US BAD PEOPLE, CAUSE THAT MAY HAVE BEEN BEFORE WE HAD A LIFE AND FAMILY. WE'RE NORMAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE CHILDREN AND PEOPLE WE LOVE, AND THINGS WE CARE ABOUT. DONT DEMEAN EVERYONE WHO DOES A CERTAIN THING TO BE ONE SPECIFIC TYPE OF PERSON!!!!!

First off you should understand that someone who IV's drugs can and will also misuse the Suboxone. Burp actually blocks the effects of opiates. Do your research on both drugs. Suboxone for people with no insurance is expensive!!!!! Subutex is cheaper by a long shot!!!! The naloxone affects lots of people in a variety of ways. Me personally gives me migraines and breaks me out. Yes there are probably people on here wanting to abuse Subutex that doesn't mean that applies to every addict in this forum.

Actually subutex is prescribed for pain management also. My husband is prescribed for that very reason. It truly helps with pain.
