How To Take Suboxone

I've been doing 10 bags of heroin a day for a while now. I got my hands on 6 - 8mg tablets of Suboxone. I planned on waiting the full 24 hours as recommended, but I woke up at 730am feeling violently ill. It happened to be the 19th hour. I felt this was sufficient enough time, plus I had to go to work. I took a full tablet, and have felt pretty good all day up until 5pm today. My question is when is the next time I should take another dose and how much??

I can't really say what the dosage is that you should take, it is normally carefully calibrated by a doctor, taking into consideration how much you were using of the drug(s) that was being abused.

If one 8mg tablet worked well and you weren't experiencing withdrawals, then that is probably the right amount to go with, but it is normally only taken once a day.

The main problem I see is that your 6 tablets are probably not going to be enough to really do that job. Normally, treatment with Suboxone takes a prolonged period of time, as it is very slowly tapered to prevent withdrawals and allow someone to become drug free.

Have you considered consulting a doctor?

Ive been on Subutex (which is the same as Suboxone except without the Naloxone) and was prescribed 3 - 8mg. tablets per day. I personally did not like this medication. It is a poor pain reliever to begin with although it is a schedule III controlled substance. This is a synthetic narcotic. Good luck.
