How Long Does Tramadol Stay In Your System (Page 4) (Top voted first)

I took 100 mg of Tramadol last Thursday and have to have a urine test at my pain doc next Thursday (2 weeks between dosage and test). I was wondering if anyone has been tested positive after that long?

I used to perform the urine samples for drug screening in an urgent care, but the Tramadol, is a synthetic 'narcotic, and they keep going around about placing it as a schedule 2 only because of the "abuse" factor, see, people can and will abuse any drug to feel high or worse, if they want to, all it takes is a case of someone abusing it, or overdosing on Ultram, to change how it is categorized. For those who do not abuse it it works great if used properly, and is not addictive. It is the persons chemistry in their brain that makes them an addict and personality disorders, because almost any substance we put on and in our bodies if not used in moderation can be overused, abused, addictive and deadly. Just an opinion.

What happened? ? I go to my pain doctors on fri. I took 5 Tramadol on Sunday thinking 5 days I'd be ok! But after reading more on this subject now I am worried.

Actually Tramadol IS considered a narcotic even though I'd is a non narcotic drug. I tested positive for it and lost my narcotics! They DO test for it and I have the test results to prove it! So all of you people saying they don't test for it areally wrong. If you listen to them then you WILL lose your narcotics! Please stop saying that they don't test for it when they do. I am someone who has learned the hard way. So unless you have gone through it yourself, stop giving false information. Tramadol attaches to the opiate receptors just like opiates. You may not feel the same effects as a narcotic, but it does do the same then as a narcotic. 3 or more years ago it was put on the narcotics list by the FDA. So of you don't want to lose your narcotics, please don't take tramadol up to 3-4 days before your appointment!

Took tramadol 300 mg ER on Sat @ 6 pm drug tested Thurs @ 4 pm enough time to be out of my system with urine drug screen @ pain management doc office. anyone please help .???5 days passed. 120 hrs.thanks red.

I realize that this is an old forum but I found it this morning so it warrants a reply.

I would beg to differ on the concept of "if the prescription was yours, regardless of it's age all you'd have to do is show them that it belonged to you and therefore wasn't taken illegally."

I am told by someone who once worked for the DEA that your legal ability to use scheduled medications ends on the date that the prescription expires. If not, everyone who ever had a prescription would have a hall pass use them forever.

I took one 50mg tramadol for pain when I fell. Then 2 days later I took the 5 panel test for pre employment.. Haven't heard back from them so I am really worried..

I however do have a perscription for tramadol,as well as norco...but my fiance does not have insurance..and pulled his back out yesterday at work...He has to take a urine screen for marijuana/narcotics on mon -tues.....this is so he can be put on the books for work! I however do believe health care professionals that Tramadol is considered a narcotic....But I am wondering , if he takes one 50 mg tramadol...willl this affect his drug screen on monday/tues? as we are NOT drug users , and boss would be testing for again THC/major narcotics!

In louisiana tramadol has been classified narcotic for past two years. I was prescribed the meds at time they became narcotics. My dr had to inform me they are now scheduled

Yes it will show up no question. takes 5-7 days to leave ur system .however if you hace a script from a Dr then ur fine but if u don't then u wull fail. I don't understand why ppl take meds they don't have a script for and get all worked up when they have to get tested either by court or there pain dr.

I want off and have taken it for pain for about 4 years 100 mg a day. Want a job and was told to get off the med. I told I was taking them, Doctors ordered. How long will it take? Doctors would not OK me getting off.

That is not so. Suboxone does have an opiate blocker, I think it's called naloxone or something. Anyway it's similar to anibuse they used to give drunks. It has a receptor blocker, and I know in my case it will cause severe withdraw if taken with certain drugs. I wouldn't take any opiate along with Suboxone. But u can take subutex, it's subs without blocker.

My docs say that Tramadol is NOT a narcotic, but shares some similar properties and, therefore, is often treated like a narcotic. I have to go through pain management drug tests because of a continued prescription, just like anyone who is prescribed an actual narcotic drug regularly because of it's being legally treated LIKE it is a narcotic. However, I am allergic to ALL narcotics, and have never had any remote issue with Tramadol because it IS NOT actually a narcotic. I've discussed this with over 20 docs in the last 5 years, all say the same thing. It is prescription only, it shares properties with narcotics, and is often legally treated as one. It should only be taken under doctor supervision, it is not Tylenol. But, it's not a narcotic either.
