How Long Does Tramadol Stay In Your System (Page 3) (Top voted first)

I took 100 mg of Tramadol last Thursday and have to have a urine test at my pain doc next Thursday (2 weeks between dosage and test). I was wondering if anyone has been tested positive after that long?

Dont take it again, its horrible stuff. I wish they would take it off the market, saying its not a narcotic is one of the most stupid things I have ever heard someone say. Tramadol can cause MAJOR withdraw symptoms taking it only a few weeks. More than hydrocodone. Docs hand it out like its nothing, they need to do something about it before it's a repeat of Percocet.

It is now considered a controlled substance in Florida for everybody who buses all of these medications, and people who are really in pain get screwed when they try to fill any type of prescription relating to pain meds.

Just an update FYI. As of August 2014, Tramadol became a level 3 controlled substance. I'm like to take a minute to thank all the drug abusers out there making those in legitimate pain suffer because doctors cannot trust anyone anymore.

It is a synthetic opiate analogue. This means it does the same thing as any drug from the opium poppy (heroin, morphine, codeine, etc.) but was created in a lab instead of an opium plant.

that's true that most drug test don't included tramadol but if you are a pain management patient be aware that they check for tramadol and other meds you are not prescribed along with the ones you are prescribed tramadol may not be a narcotic but is now a scheduled medication along with other narcotics so unless your getting your info from a dr. I wouldn't go by what people say or comment on in the internet

I. use to take tramadol anf because off cronic pain was changed.to narcos. if they ate out of your. urine in 3-5Ddays wnat if you drink a lot of water,does it help to het it out faster? and folks iff you ate gona judge people. hey Don't!

Good question have you noticed no one will give you a straight up anwser??? First of all they are now SCH . Meaning they are now a man made Narcotic. They have been for years and now they are treating them as one. Meaning you have to have a script for them now.... not called in ID etc when picking them up. Now how long it takes to get them out of your system? Not exactly sure. No one will tell you that part. I dont think they have acutally got the drug testing to pick it up like they do others. Now if they use a 14 panel stick test they will find it. Lets put it like this. Its what type of drug test your taking. If your on probation they are using the good ones....... DSS is using the good ones. If its a good paying job its a good one more than likely. If its a decent job but not allot of money..... who knows.... depending on what they are testing you for. It will not stick to your fat like pot does. Drink allot of water. Dont take anymore from now until you take your test and good luck. And come back and report your outcome. Maybe someone will acutally be able to say how long it took them to pass or fail. That is the only way anyone is really gonna know. Good luck

Regarding whether or not tramadol/ultram is an opiate. According to purists, it isn't, even though it "interacts with" opiate receptors in its own way. I will tell you from bitter experience that during recovery from OxyContin & hydrocodone addiction, when I was plagued by "drug hunger," I was given ultram & I knew immediately that my opioid "sensors" had been tickled, like a spoonful of water in the middle of the desert. Argue all you want and insist on meaningless distinctions, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and makes *me* fly like a duck . . . I think we ought to call it a duck. It's like arguing over whether or not a baseball bat is a deadly weapon. It all depends on how you look at it.

You will indeed get sick off of any narcotic if you still have it in your system THEN start taking suboxone. I have been in suboxone for 6 years and I can tell you that when I still had some barbiturates and narcotics in my system then took suboxone I was so sick I had to be hospitalized. So it is very possible to get sick when you mix the two. I have tried ever since when I had surgery to take a narcotic while on suboxone and once again got very I'll the doctor had to switch me over to subutex suboxone without the blocker. Then the pain medication worked and I was no longer sick from it. The only narcotic that does not make you sick while on suboxone is tramadol/ultram but I would not recommend mixing the two because the tramadol will not work and you will end up with an overdose on your hands.... Just saying... Thought I'd share my own experience

I am a ER nurse. I was also addicted to tramadol 2 yrs ago. It is a B**** to come off of.

It was RECENTLY scheduled as a controlled substance.

It WILL not show up on a standard 5 panel test, but they can test for it if they are looking for it, such as at pain clinics or hospitals. Not pre employment.

If you are trying to get off it, I suggest taking Xanax for 1 month as replacement. Worked for me.

Be prepared to not be able to sleep or eat for 2 weeks though. This drug is becoming an epidemic due to lax prescribing habits by docs. That is why it is not classified.

tramadol has been reclassified to a class four drug. been told that use of med and driving commercial vehicle Constitutes DUI if tested.

Was at doctors, they did urine test, can't remember the day I took 1 Tramadol (2-4 days) 50 mg. But showed up I test.

It affects people differently. I was taking 2 at a time at 50 mg every 6 hours. Did this for 6 months. The pain subsided as my physical therapy went on. I then stopped to see how my healing was coming along. Three days later I took one and took another later. I then would take one when I needed it. I was given a new script a year ago. I thin I used it twice or thrice since... No with drawals problems. Last time I needed it was like six months ago.. I now use neproxin as needed....
My problem was a torn shoulder... It still hurts, daily it RU s at a level of 2 - 3,,, FETs to an 7 or 8 I then take neproxin.

Tramadol brand name Ultram will show up in urine toxicology tests from 4-5 days depending on dosage and frequency of use. Most doctors did not use to test for tramadol but today with stricter laws on controlled substances I myself always test for tramadol along with all other opiates. In most cases it will stay in blood up to 10days but with urine should be gone in 4days. So if it's been two weeks since your last dose your fine. Also for other people reading don't drink a lot of water before urine drug screens thinking it will flush narcotics out quicker IT WILL NOT IT ONLY DILUTES URINE WHICH TELLS DOCTORS YOUR HIDING SOMETHING. This is a word to the wise you cannot fool today's drug tests so please don't try take medicine only prescribed to you and avoid the heartache.

It's a synthetic narcotic so it does not show up like regular narcotic would. I work in the medical field and know this first hand.

It is considered a narcotic now. Controlled but this was just changed recently. I'm a nurse and we used to have packets and packets of them on our med carts (( non controlled )) all other controlled drugs were kept locked in the lock box in the med room.

Ok so here's my deal...as I'm reading looking for answers my own self on how long it stays in ur system...for those of u wanting to know how long it takes to leave ur system...I am taking a drug test (thurs)afternoon and I took 10 50mg tramadol between sat and sun night..will let ALL u guys know if I pass or fail mine..Im hoping to pass but just not sure at this point..**fingers crossed** ..

As of October 2015 Tramadol is now considered a class IV narcotic - all pain clinics do test for it now because they changed the law- even kegitvpsin clinics do not believe in this change but have to obey the new laws
