I had one vicodin the night before a drug test and this was my first time taking one in a week. Will it show up in my urine test?

I took a half of 10 mg hydrocodone at 930 this morning and have drug test tomorrow morning at 800 will this show up in my test

I took one hydro 10 on sat and tested today at 1015am ITE been sent for lab will I pass... I also had half of beer last night will it show up .....

Please tell me that you live in Ga!! I've suffered from chronic pain since 93 when my neck, back & several discs ruptured. I've had almost 30 surgeries. My pain doc had me on Lortabs 10/325 qid prn, Methadone HCL 10mg I could take q6h but took tid, Morphine sulf ER 30mg tid, 5mg Valium tid (for severe tinitis,Robaxin 500mg tid, Klopin 1mg Hs, Belsomra 10mg HS. I also have an internial pain pump that goes up to my neck giving me Sufential & Bacolfen. I'm sorry I don't have the dosage. And a host of arthritis meds, neurontion & Prevacid. He's been my pain doc for over 15yrs!! I complained that mail order RX had been shorting my meds. Some as lil as 3 in a 90day supply but also as many as almost 40 in some...it varies every time. I offered to have someone drive me to his office which is 2hrs EACH way so they could open the sealed box & count the Meds. I've never felled a drug test. I've never taken a pill early!! But he decided that I needed a "vacation" from my meds. He wanted my Primary care doc to admit me stop ALL my meds as an inpatient for a week then home for a week. Then back to him. Now I was offended that he didn't believe me about my meds & I was very afraid of how bad I was going to hurt. But if it worked & less meds would make me feel better I was willing. But not one of my docs would do this. They said I had a contract with him and if they changed my meds in any way it would void the contract. I called his office and explained this & offered to let HIM admit me...he said he didn't do that & I was being NONCOMPLIANT. So I stopped the meds myself and I'm going back next week, which will be 3 weeks since I stopped the meds. I'll never trust him again. I've had NO withdrawal symptoms but my pain is at about a 9 & I'm about in tears all the time because of the pain!! How can he just do this & then blame me?? He's a pain care anothesialogist. He's put 5 pumps in me. This one runs intertheical. Because of the pump I can't get another doc to take me on. Any advice??

Hi Dave, if someone just had to take hydrocodone 5-325 mg for a period of 7 days. It would show up on a drug test. How about the levels of how much your taking. Do you have to be tak by it infer in order to get a high level.

I get 5 milligram Lortabs for my scoliosis I took one yesterday morning going to work at 9 o'clock. I had a doctor's appointment today to go get my refill for Lortab at 10 o'clock and they gave me a urine test they said I tested negative for Lortab how is that possible

Bonnie..Hydrocodone starts to leave your system at about 4 hours and is possible to be out of your system within 24 hours if you only took one.

Hydrocodone reaches its peak concentration in urine after about 8 hours. At that point, levels of hydrocodone in urine begin to taper off. Depending on the dose taken, hydrocodone may only be detectable for 6-24 hours after taking the drug.

I was in an auto accident and stayed in the hospital for 3 1/2 months and it took me 1 1/2 years to find a doctor to help me with my pain..1 month my drug test is great, the next he says he didn't find hydro in my urine.. And it keeps going 1 month great, the next month failed...So he says I'm selling or taking too many which I've told him there's days I need more than 3 a day..but he won't change the dosage or change to something stronger because of the crazy test.....So either the machines screwed up or he's playing games...I'm metal from the neck down, even my right foot isn't anything but wires, screws and plates..I know peps with just arthritis that get all kinds of meds. The system is messed up...
Where are you located if you're a doctor? I'm in need of one that will help a person who needs help...I'm not a suicidal person but there's days I wonder why I'm here because of the pain..

I took like 5 vicodin 7.5's at 2:am Monday morning will they be out of me by Thursday 10:30a.m? I never normally take them plus I just happen to per a lot..I mean a lot.

The dose for Lortab 10/500mg can easily be one tablet every three to four hours as needed. You could legitimately be taking 6 x 10 or 60mg/day. Given the half-life and that I doubt this is an expensive and sophisticated drug test we're talking about here. You should be fine. The reason we don't prescribe much more than 10mg per dose is because it causes GI upset in larger doses.

If you have been prescribed a hydrocodone-containing product by a licensed prescriber, most companies and even some drug treatment programs will accept a look at the prescription bottle and "do the math". I had a patient in an outpatient drug treatment program who was worried that his FP wrote for Phenergan with Codeine (cough syrup - Schedule V). I've known that doc practically all my life; he was our original family doctor, now an internist. I know that's what he writes for and I offered to call him and ask him to call the Drug Treatment Center. The counselor accepted the bottle with the kid's name on it and skipped the urine test that day.

I don't usually prescribe hydrocodone products Actually, I write about two prescriptions a year for Percocet 10/325 (along with brand name Valium). for my kid sister's severe migraines. She can't take the tryptans for a couple of reasons and for reasons unknown to me, our cardiologist, whom we have known for years, flatly refused to write the script. I actually called him and reminded him that I have the same license and DEA # he has and I'd write for whatever I deemed appropriate. My sister would come in, have a regular consult/workup with me and I'd prescribe #240 Percocet 10/325 (a 30d supply at the max recommended dose of 1-2 q4h). He didn't just go off the hook, the pulled the hook of the door and almost tore the door out the the house! She has a long history of complicated headache profiles and I diagnosed them as secondary to Generalized Anxiety Disorder, for which I prescribed Valium (brand name) 5mg four times daily. THEN, he pulled the hook off the door. I told him that can defend my prescriptions and to remember that his patient was a Senior Felony Sex Crimes Prosecutor for 10 years and now was completing her 10th year as The Division Chief or the Criminal Division of a very high-profile "White Shoe Law Firm". I reminded him that she's beat the DEA in every case FOR the past ten years and, if they're not scared of her, they should be. Federal Court Orders would be flying around like confetti if I even were questioned about these scripts.

Yes, because my practice is in the suburbs and my sister works in the city and had the Rx filled near her law firm's offices, I did get a call from the pharmacist, although he was almost apologetic; he said he recognized my "unforgable" signature" and that he had filled other Rxs I've written. I told him the whole story and he got a good laugh, but he said he wanted to be able to note in his handwriting on the back of the scripts that he called, I verified and the date and time. He said he would divide the pills into three bottles for convenience, because it really would be ill-advised to write another script for her to have filled at home.

I also did wrote a letter for a recovering physician addict whom I was treating after his internist called to inform me that he had prescribed #20 Percocet 10/325 on whatever date for I think, post-op pain following a wisdom tooth extraction. Consequently, he'd test positive for morphine unless an sophisticated tox scan was employed and that just wasn't necessary, The prescriber wasn't the oral surgeon; my patiently really didn't think he'd need more than 800mg of Motrin every 6 hours. It really does work as well as Tylenol #3 for dental pain, but Tylenol #3 isn't a big league opioid analgesic, I didn't even include the prescribing doc's license or DEA #s, just his name.

Incidentally, depending on the sophistication (meaning the expense) of the drug test use, I could order a tox screen that would detect hydrocodone in those so-called "miracle patients". Most drug tests are inexpensive...and you get what you pay for. But PLEASE, if anyone being subjected to scheduled or random drug testing is using legally prescribed hydrocodone, oxycodone, Valium (diazepam), Xanax (alprazolam) or Ambien, Lunesta, etc. (which can test positive for benzos), KEEP THE RX BOTTLE FOR A WHILE. A pharmacist can, with your permission, disclose information about what prescriptions were filled for you and whom the prescribers are. My local pharmacists tell me they occasionally get a call and the patient provides the OK. Once, I received a very troubling letter from an insurance company stating that my patient possibly had been "exposed" to too many Controlled Substances from various prescribers. The "hit list" contained monthly Rxs for Xanax and Ambien, approximately one month apart and ALL prescribed by...DrJoey. (My own doc got two — same scenario. I was allegedly doctor shopping, but all the Controlled Substance scripts for Xanax and Ambien were dated about a month apart and TWO were prescribed by my doc's covering doc, but in the appropriate time span. You'd think these people would have better things to do.

Finally, I hope everyone knows that Ultram (tramadol) will yield a positive result for opoids. It's a drug to stay away from if you're taking SSRIs or other antidepressants. Complicated story, but it isn't that good an analgesic anyway.
