I will be taking Levofloxcin 500mg for 10 days. How long will it remain in my system after finishing the medicine?

I took 500mg for 10 days, which seemed to have paralyzed me; slowly after days I could get up...That was nearly 5 months ago and every time I use a muscle differently or several other things it flares back up and comes out in round spots on my arms. My shoulders still hurt most of the time. I had to get a shot on one side. It seemed to then spread to my head and started migraines for a month. I finally found a med to stop that.. Just came on here now to see if I could find a way to get it out of my system..It has been 4 months now and still just as bad at times.. would squat yesterday and couldn't get up due to the pain and swelling. It's somewhat better today so it seems to come and go. DON'T TAKE IT!!!

I took one 750mg at 6 pm woke up at 2am with swollen ankles! It's been 6 days and I feel out of balance when I walk and feel dizzy. Will this ever go away? Please someone help... I hate this feeling!

That is a wrong and ridiculous response!! Those side effects does not mean the medication is working! It means it is causing a problem in your system and that it should be stopped immediately!!! Stop giving out dangerous advice like this since you have no clue what you are talking about!!!!

Yes, my joints ached and I was stiff. I took it for 10 days and finished it up a month ago and I'm still having some symptoms.

I was on a 10 day program. When will it be out of my system? It was for aspiration pneumonia. I am 90 yrs old.

I had the same side effects. Only took it for two days. I stopped the medication and it was a good thing because after reading the online posts some of the side effects can be permanent.

I was diagnosed with UTI, doctor gave me OFLOXACIN 400 mg once a day for 3 days, is it safe? Won't it have harmful side effect ?

I took levaquin for 10 days for a sinus infection. I finished the dosage on Oct. 1st. My knees and one shoulder is still bothering me. I left on Oct. 2nd for a 9 day trip. I had to pull up on the back of the bus seat to stand. My roommate had also taken the same med for the same reason. She had to buy a cane to use. We are both still having problems. I thought when I got home and got back on my exercise routine, it would be better but it isn't yet. I was hoping some of you had answers. I guess I should be grateful that my symptoms weren't worse but when you have trouble getting up off the sofa to go to the bathroom, it's difficult to feel grateful.

I took one 500 mg pill and my mouth and throat got real dry making it hard to swallow. How long does this medicine last in your system?

I have been taking levoflaxine 500mg twice a day and dalacine 300mg 3 times a day for 4 weeks for an osteomyelite. I have sore legs and hips like i've run a marathon and a very sore lower back...my right shoulder also gives me pain. I stopped the treatment on Sunday as it was the end of the treatment and everything has improved except my back....I am 65 years old, physically fit and have never had back pain in my life. Can you tell me if this is due to the treatment and how long will it take to stop affecting my back? Thank you.

Took Medicine for 8 days (500mg) and after I stopped using it I have had bad thigh pain and can't hardly walk for nearly a week. How long will this pain last?

I've been given Leviquin for a chronic cyst in my testicle. I finished the ten day script, one a day at 500 Mg. I have yet to feel any relief. Should I ask fo more? Thinking maybe I just haven't taken enough to help my problem.

I took Levaquin for 7 doses for pneumonia. I had been on Augmentin for 10 days for severe bronchitis, sinus infection and cough. I was also taking Prednisone and had a half of a week supply left and was told to keep taking it with the Levaquin. I am also 63. After day two I experienced pain in one foot, similar to a bad stone bruise. I had been only in the bed for the previous weeks. Day 3, my entire foot felt like it had been slammed in a car door. The pain had started up my shin and calf area. By day 5 I was in excruciating pain from my foot to my thigh. Day 6, a trip to the ER where they just took me off the Levaquin and acted like I had a muscle spasm. Received Motrin for pain and sent home with something for my cough. Still having pain in my foot if I am on it very much. Also I am experiencing unusual bleeding and bruising if I happen to bump my arms or legs lightly or even scratching a mosquito bite. Look as if I've been in a wreck. My skin is a mess with red and dark black/purple spots all over.

I experience the same thing only took five pills and have muscle weakness in the legs now I'm having severe anxiety attacks it's been a month and I'm still having them and I stop the medication

I am equating another symptom to levaquin...when I begin having the problem with my joints, specifically my knees after taking it, my feet starting swelling and continued to do so all winter and now also. Taking fluid pills, elevating them, etc. Nothing seemed to help. I now read that the is a side-effect. The nurse practicioner that was giving my shots for my knees seems to think that the levaquin injured my tendons. It's now been almost two years.
