I took 1 0.5mg pill of lorazapam (generic for ativan) on Sunday night at around 10pm and have a drug test Tuesday at 4pm, will I fail? I do not take any other drugs and only took this one pill one time for anxiety.

Well I got an email from the employee health nurse stating that all of my labs came back and I've met all of the employee health requirements, Welcome to "new job"! I'm fairly certain that means I passed my urine drug screen as well since it was part of my physical. So 8 days of no Ativan, after long term use, I had none in my urine!

I can only say this from the 1 experience I had in this, but I took a .5mg Ativan at about 8pm on a Monday and then drug tested on Wednesday at noon and passed.

Jack you are right on the money. I HATE it when people post questions In such a panic, but then never follow up so others with the exact same concern aren't put at ease.
I had taken a lorazapam .05 mg, (can't remember if it was Sat. at 8 or 10pm, or Sunday night); however, at noon Monday, I passed a 12 panel drug test. So., either way, within 14 hours, or 36 hours, I passed.
Even if it was 36 hours, that's amazing for a drug to clear your system without a trace, so quickly!.

I hav been on valium(diazipam) and klonipin! they r very different!When it comes to a urine test! Valium stores in ur fat cells so it can stay in ur system up to a month depending on mg and usage per day!

Hey, I had the same type situation, I'm completely drug free, high metab, took 1 1mg ativan to get some sleep Thursday night, had a drug screen at work today, Saturday, 2 short days later, squeeeky clean! =)

I am glad to read your reply on Lorazepam 0.5 mg. I experienced the same situation with taking only one tablet. When I initially read the first article, I went into panic. This is because, I normally only use natural supplements to reduce my stress levels and I am in the process of seeking employment and can not afford to come up positive on a drug test. Thanks again for the info.

You should be good. It takes about 48 hours to get out of your system. Ativan is the shortest acting benzo. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and start taking Niacin- 500mgs once a day... It helps flush the medications out of your blood. A vapid Xanax, Valium and Klonopin- they can stay in your urine up to 14 days!!!!

I have the exact opposite problem. My doctor wants too see the lorazepam in my test results so he will know I am not hoarding it or selling it. I took 3 mg Tuesday night. No sign of it in an 11:30 am blood test Wednesday morning. I drink a lot of water and also take thyroid and 1500 mg of niaspan every night. Any ideas? Bob

For the people asking about taking this with other medicines or alcohol... maybe you should consult a physician or pharmacist. It's silly to take the advice from random people off an internet board.

Wish he of posted back. I took two and a half Sunday around 7pm. I have a pre employment drug test Tuesday. Drinking lots of water and took a hand full of cranberry pills. Worried this job is a big deal for me. My mom gave it to me for anxiety I was having Sunday night. Hoping that I hardly take them it won't stick around in my system. I'll report back to let people know. If anybody sees this that has done it in just 24hrs please leave comments. Thanks Ben

I don't think he is killing you. I certainly wouldn't take any more of either medicine than prescribed because too much of either when taking them together could be a problem but I am pretty sure as long as you take both as directed you will be fine, although maybe a bit sleepy. :)
