How Long Does 0.5mg Of Ativan Stay In Your System (Top voted first)

I took 1 0.5mg pill of lorazapam (generic for ativan) on Sunday night at around 10pm and have a drug test Tuesday at 4pm, will I fail? I do not take any other drugs and only took this one pill one time for anxiety.

Ativan is one of the Fastest Acting in and out Benzo there is... and it will Certainly be Ouyt of your system by 22 hours - Unless you have a problem with your Liver or other health problems that make filtering drugs an issue - then it's a a new ballgame.

Otherwise... As benzos go: Ativan is THE Shortest-Acting one there is... meaning it works and leaves your body fast! You will test clean between 7 to 22 hours afterwards.

Now OTHER benzos can take 14 days! Some 7 days. They are ALL different.
To put ALL Benzos into the same 'clean-time' isn't even close to factual.

this person is so Way Way off on the time line of Ativan just re-reading it makes me wonder how many people were scared or just didn't test at all due to your incorrect information!

again: Ativan.. even 8mg! 'MY' daily dose - leaves your body (if no Liver disease/problems, no HEP C, etc) in 7 to 22 hours.

But I already posted that.
What I was hoping for was for the one who Asked this question to post that yes, they did indeed pass their urine test on that Tuesday.
I hope you still get updates when people reply to your question here - so please let others know that truly, weeks is more for Valium and Xanax - but NOT - repeat, Not Ativan. I used to wonder why "I" never tested positive for it - thought they just gave up trying or something ridiculous (ha!) But then I DID test positive after taking an Ativan pill at about 3am to sleep and tested at the clinic at 7am. it's out of your body Fast! but not 4 hours fast!

So again: Were you ok on that Tuesday test of yours?

Short Version: Ativan by Personal Experience....
Will be OUT of your urine in 7-22 hours.


Meaning: You WILL TEST CLEAN 7-22hrs AFTER taking the ATIVAN.

Longer-Extra Info:
now if you were/are taking Valium or any Other med in the Benzo-Family the results are way, way different. You can Test Dirty for Valium for Weeks after the dose b/c Valium stays in your body longer, so it will be in your urine for longer periods of time.

But because Ativan is an incredibly Short-Acting medicine even though it's in the same family of drugs as Valium is... it leaves your body very fast.. leaving any trace of it in urine very quickly as well.

Hope that cleared it up.
But remember: if you have any Liver problems, Hepatitis C lets say, then Your Particular Body wouldn't filter out drugs as normally nor in the same time frame as your average person will.
Any Liver problems usually means a drug "hangs around" inside the body and in your urine longer than it would other wise - So the longer you wait is always the better.
Also remember that Mixing Ativan or any 'like' meds with methadone (esp.) other narcotics or alchohol is extremely dangerous. The top reason people on methadone die? - They combined Ativan or other Benzos With their methadone dose. I'm not trying to 'be the boss of you'... But I'd be a real jerk Not to mention it.

So Again: Ativan will be Out of your Body - which includes your urine (you will test Neg for Ativan) anywhere between 7-22 hours.
So shoot for 22+hours to be safe.

and Not All Benzodiazepam Drugs work the same or leave the body in the same amount of time. And as far as Benzos do go... Ativan is the Quickest to leave the body /urine.. this is why you will feel withdrawal symptoms very quickly as well - b/c it does leave you so very quickly.

sorry... I also forgot to mention I do know this by experience -
But I ALSO Looked It Up and the pharmaceutical reference guide has Ativan out in 7 to 22 hours. (out of your urine)

Plus 1mg is the medium dosage given - so without liver damage you are fine for any urine test. Your Given Weight isn't drastically low or high to make an impact in this situation.

So I took .25mg of Ativan before my interview at 1PM on Tuesday. I have a prescription but its 2 years old so I was worried. I took a 9-panel urine test at 7PM on Thursday, 54 hours later. I got my results today and I passed. The threshold was 300ng/ml.

I read this thread and thought I'd comment to help people out.

Jack... can you provide the link to the pharmaceutical reference guide? My fear is that you're reading the half-life of Lorazepam, which is about 12 hours (on average in clinical trials). If you're reading the half-life elimination times, then your estimate of 7-22hours isn't right. Let me know!

Ok so are yall saying its takes 7-22 hours until it stops working or until you can pass a drug test? Im needing to know how long 1mg ativan stays in your system until you can pass a urine drug screen. I know theres not an exact answer im just trying to get an idea. And I weigh about 115 lbs if that helps... Thankyou

I took three of .5 ativans on a Friday night around 8:00pm and took a urine drug screen on monday moring at 6:00 am..and was clean. My metabolism works very slow too. But I do not take any benzos on a regular basis either.. My judgement is this drug definatly leaves the body quickly..

How do you know that it's lorazepam and not some other nenzo that is causing the positive urine screens? I'm on a methadone clinic and I know for a fact that the drug screens to not distinguish between different types of benzos per my doctors exact words to me. Lorazepam is extremely short acting and leaves the urine in less than a day. Just last week I took 3 mgs of ativan sunday afternoon and had a piss test monday m9rnong and passed it.

Yeah sorry I couldn't find this post to post it back. Just got email about comment. Drank allot of water on day before like 4 or 5 cups of water every couple of hours. Took some cranberry pills also my wife had here cause herd cranberry juice helps but I don't know lol. Drank enough water day of till I was pissing alot again. Maybe close to a gallon. Piss was clear as F*** so was worried about that so took a multi v to give it some color but only took it maybe 3hrs before and guess it wasn't enough time to get threw system so my piss was really clear at test. Lady diddnt say anything. It was a rapid test so if anything looked funny or I failed I guess they send it to a lab. she said I passed and it diddnt need to go to lab and threw it in the trash. This was a pre employment drug test so I'm not sure what they tested for. I wanted to ask but diddnt want her to get any ideas lol. I'd just be careful if this is for probation or something. Who knows what them a holes test for!
