I took 1 0.5mg pill of lorazapam (generic for ativan) on Sunday night at around 10pm and have a drug test Tuesday at 4pm, will I fail? I do not take any other drugs and only took this one pill one time for anxiety.

U must be talking about a 5mg valium.
Cause ativan just comes in0.5mg 1 mg an 2 mg. Not 5

Depending on how long he has taken it and with what regularity, he may be feeling withdrawal symptoms. It doesn't take long to build a tolerance to Ativan and with the short half life, you begin to get withdrawal symptom very quickly when it wears off. This is why many suggest switching to a longer half life benzo when trying to taper off the drug. Happened to me with only .5mg a day after about 30 days or less. Like all drugs, individuals react differently, but it is a very effective drug with very real dangers of dependence, and once the body is tolerant to it, it takes higher and higher doses to work until even high doses do not work leaving you with a real problem to get off of it. This is my experience with the drug.

Took Ativan for 15 years at doses from 1 to 3 mg a day. Dr took me off with taper to .250mg. Went through hell. Dr gave it back as a prescrip for .5 mg a day as needed for anxiety attacks. Never took more than .5 mg week for year then ended up taking .5 mg day for 30 days and got hooked again. Now into 4 the day clean and those crazy withdrawals again. You can't flirt with this drug. Withdrawals include high no, palpitations, dizziness and depression and anxiety, which is double troubling when you have heart problems, as I do, because you can't tell the difference between the cause being heart related or withdrawal. To the patient there is no difference in the symptoms. Ativan is a poor drug to build a tolerance to because of the short half life. You are into w/d in 12 hrs without re dosing. I may have to start another anxiety drug to get off the Ativan this time. I never abused this drug and only used it to control anxiety symptoms. One of the paradoxes is it works so well in the beginning and later can cause more problems than it was originally prescribed for. I would rather use "tolerance" instead of addiction because many of us did choose to be on this drug or be addicted to it.

Ativan withdrawls are deadly i been fighting for weeks still havent left me yet iv been tapering off slowly still not feeling any better how long does this last for shocking withdrawls.

I'm curious why so many people are being drug tested for Ativan. I have a prescription for it as well as medical marijuana and its never been an issue. Are most people concerned in the U.S. or do not have prescriptions? I have seriously don't know a single person trying to buy benzos illegally. They are cheap and plentiful and most doctors will prescribe them if you have a history of anxiety (and I know lots of people).

I have hep C and am thinking about taking 4 mg of Ativan. Today is Saturday and I have a urine screen Wednesday. I've seen that if u have liver problems it can take longer. Anyone have hep C and done this? The tests are pretty insane. I just don't want to fail.

Some people can’t afford the doctor, or have obligations where they can’t get them or have tried their hardest and can’t get them. Do you have anxiety or agoraphobia?? If you do then I’m sure you know how excruciating it is. And if it bothers u so much why are you here???

I took a .5 mg Activan on Friday at 11 am and had a drug test on Monday around 11. I passed the test, it was a 5 panel test.
