How Long Do I Have To Wait Take Suboxone after taking 10mg oxycodone so i dont go into precipitated withdrawals?

Agreed. I have used op/sub or sub/op either direction at what would just be my next dose same time four hours or whatever never had PW it's completely along either direction at what would just be my next dose same time four hours or whatever never had PW it's complete BS!!
If u take sub & feel wdishb then you just simply don't have enough sub on board to match your prior op!
Sub is for Replacing and Stopping op-- so I think the PW Is part of the marketing/psychological propaganda Because when you are in severe wd & take sub it feels like a miracle! So think it creates a psy reinforcement of "wow. This sub saved me from wd agony!" And psy bonds you to sub & the commitment to replacement therapy!
Every long term pm says same thing--no pw going in "either" direction!!

Also, every pm i know agrees Sub can be awesone/better for pain same/better than ops--yet, it is still a "op replace therapy" not PM!
Its all marketing propaganda!
Sidenote: some pm patients & i discussed that when we were younger or before we knew what " WD was " we did not recollect having such severe WD symptoms does anyone else have that same experience ?

I've been on heavy pain meds for a long time. Right now I have 3/ 8mg subutex and 50mgspercocet daily. How long do I need to wait before starting just strictly suboxone 8mgs

this is the thing I dont get, everybody says to wait this long ass time, dude I can take some norcos and like an hour later take some suboxone and feel great, no w/d or anything.

Thank you for that cuz no one wants to help me get off oxycodone I've seen down to three half pieces a day over never tried suboxone so I wait ten hrs cuz at ten hour I'm sooooo sick to my stomach hot cold sweats muscle tense just can't sleep feel like hell

Hi. I took 3 10 hydrocodone pills today. I took my last one at 4pm. When is the absolute earliest I can take my sub? I didn't even feel the effects of the pills. It made me feel not sick because I was taking percs for a few weeks straight. I don't know if I can handle being sick for a whole 24 hours.

Glad you took that second one and felt fine -- when I say I suffered waiting many times because I was afraid sub would take me into PW's I'm not kidding. I also agree with the other users who say they believe that PW when you start Suboxone is and actually PW it's your actual opiate withdrawal and you simply do not have enough Suboxone on board in the receptors. I have seen Suboxone work wonders for other people I have a friend who I would've never believed was on pills for years due to a legitimate medical problem but Suboxone worked such a miracle on her if she told me later that she was on pills I would've never Believe tour or I would've thought it was just a low dose for a number of years. However after she was on Suboxone for a year she stepped down she's very good about stepping down and eventually was taking almost hair like pieces of Suboxone the films since she cut them when stepping down as close as you can to jump off spot~~ I don't know if it's the pharmaceutical mechanism of action or simply the longer half-life but Suboxone withdraw doesn't cause that panic of opiate withdrawal whereby the hour you know how much worse it gets Suboxone seems to get worse by the day when stepping down -- this is the advice of my friend not me I've never had full replacement but she did and she didn't properly but she claims that the PAws you know the postacute withdrawal syndrome from the sub created more depression than any opiate then she claimed was worse and after maybe six months of being clean she's back on Suboxone which now appears to be both her drug of choice and drug of replacement. When she was clean and during her step down maybe she was even on some for a year and a half or two years but she and I both discussed she thought the brain healing that occurred during replacement therapy the brain healing from chronic opiate use was the biggest benefit of the Suboxone. I think she return to Suboxone in truth due to boredom/the addictive personality but also because of the huge depression. Suboxone seems to stimulate that positive feeling I think even more so than opiates so I think in effort to treat her with drawl she returned to the Suboxone either way she's trying to step back down now. I think used properly Suboxone is a miracle drug I think the government should give it to opiate addict's for free but I know that will never happen but I think used properly and step down properly it creates a miracle for a lot of people so if you have the financial and medical ability to take Suboxone properly and step down -- I hope you take full advantage of it and let it be a miracle in your life but be very careful of the depression that happens after you discontinue Suboxone and don't run into the situation that my friend has. Hey.. u should only take 2 mg of subs 4 times a day for 2 days. Then step yourself down... about a week total... it's worse coming off subs than pills.. I would suggest getting some type of benzos to help for a month or two.. hope I could help.

Thanks for answering .. I took the 2 mg suboxone anyways and it was fine. No pws and I feel better than ever ! Thank god! So I feel like everyone is different but I waited 24 hours after taking an opiate to take my sub.

I have never understood the hype or propgandA or lie regarding "pw" if someone takes sub (film) b4, After, or even w an opiate. It is totL bs it causes wd. Every sub film & opiate user i know agrees total bs! Perhaps propagNda to keep people clean or on one product ( replacement ) for another product like an opiate . I suffered many years during a Roxy shortage and cancer treatment afraid to take a sub because everything I read about precipitated withdrawal and then I found out from a sub users who either ran short or had pain they would mix the two and never have any problem I'm talking long-term opioid patients and long term large dose sub patients . They and I have now taken it and every variety combination right before one another right after one another or with both on board never as it caused any withdraw ever .
I believe the Suboxone is actually a superior painkiller and wish it would be approved for that . Just my opinion and the opinion of about 25 other chronic and or terminal patients I know none of us understand they lie about precipitated withdrawal and it is a lie or it's all mental

Help I am scared. I have been on 2 mg suboxone for 2 years and the past two weeks I ended up taking Vicodin . It has been a 24 hours since my last 10 mg Vicodin and I just took a 2 mg suboxone. I'm so scared I will start pw! Does anyone think I will be ok?

You are so lucky. I have been taking suboxone for years and just had surgery my sub Dr prescribed oxy 10mg was taking 2 @ time every 3 hrs for 2 weeks. Took last oxy @ 11 pm. Woke up @ 7 am figured it was okay to take 1/2 strip of Sub so 4 MG and within 5 minutes started sweating feeling sick horrible w/d.

I have been taking 2 /30mg morpine sulfate and 1 60 mg morphine sulfate plus 3 /15 mugs roxy a day for 6 yrs I am out til tomorrow Took my last 15/mugs roxy at 9 pm When and how much suboxone should I take till verily in 24 hrs I can't get sick I take care of my elderly parent

I had surgery and my sub doc said take last dose b4 bed and we will be okay to take sub in morning. Yeah no that was not the case so now I waited 15 hrs and so. Far so good.

I agree with everything u just said because in my personal experience I'm the same in all the aspects just so others see this... its true but yes people are paranoid or have no experience taking one then the other. Also the scare of withdrawal. Its understandable. Everything I have done has been in every way to be done too and its been experimental for me only because I have no script for suboxone but take it so I don't get sick off other things.

Hi, would you be able to give me a little bit more detail on what you do for your Suboxone taper? I'm scared to be coming off Roxies and hydrocodone and not waiting long enough and I'm also scared to get hooked on Suboxone and I don't know what I'm doing. I managed to finally get myself to Suboxone strips and just want to be able to take them obviously to feel better and go to work

I was on Subutex an I took Subutex an 30mg oxycodone, well roxycodone ir at the same time and I had been doing it for almost a year but that's been about 3years ago. Subutex does not have any type block in it that will cause withdrawals but suboxone has another ingredient in it, I think it's naloxone an that will send ppl into withdrawals fast, and some ppl it does not bother them at all. its not good to take opiates with those type of medications. if you are detoxing an want to get off opiates you use methadone/Suboxone an Subutex. the liquid methadone is called methadose which I'm a pain patient an opiates had stopped working few yrs back so I went to a methadone clinic got on Subutex. it cost me $1134 a month. I did it daily for a year but the pain was so bad I had to go back to opiates. that's the only reason I no how you can take this an that together but everyone is different as is the same with medications, but stick to one or the other unless it's what you want to do, but getting off any of it is the hardest thing ive ever tried. hope this helps
