How Long Before Lyrica Helps?

I just started taking Lyrica after being weened off Cymbalta. Cymbalta is horrible and would never, EVER, recommend this medication. Anyway, I suffer from depression also and having severe pain doesn't help. I went to my psychiatrist and told him that I couldn't take the pain any more and want it to end and was baker acted and put in a crisis unit! Anyway, I am out and just popping Ibuprofen and on Lyrica for 2 days now. When will it help??

From what I have read it will take about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks. Hang in there!

I have been Lyrica for four weeks. I have started feeling very sad, and thinking of suicide. I have had 5 back surgeries. And am in some pain in the range of 6-7 at all times. I had winged myself off of morphine, because I didn't want to be on the narcotic any longer, I had been on it for 2 years. Now I don't know what I am going to do.

I saw your post and figured I'd try and help, if you take anywhere from 450-1000mg's of lyrica (what I take) it will undoubtedly help with pain/anxiety/restlessness, only noticeable side effect is some dizziness. But on it's own it's not that bad, I take it to supplement two other drugs. Also anywhere from 3000-7000mg's of neurontin will produce similar effects.
