How Isosorbide Mononitrate Acts On Me

I am taking many other drugs but if I forget to to take Isosorbide Mononitrate, I feel severe chest muscle pain for 4 to 5 minutes in the next morning, when my angiogram shows a minimum of 20% blockage. Kindly tell me what actual problem is there.

The actual problem is you have a vessel to your heart that is more than 20% blocked. You did not mention which blood vessels were indicated. The food for your heart is oxygen. The oxygen is transported to the heart tissues by the blood in your vessels. When your heart does not get the food required, the oxygen, it hurts leading to you feeling chest pain, tightness, pressure, jaw pain, arm pain, stomach pain, nausea, heartburn/indigestion, arm pain, etc. The ISO dilates blood vessels thus allowing blood and the oxygen (food) it is carrying to get to and through your heart tissues. When you have gone too long between doses, missed a dose, or decided to not take the ISO your venous system (veins and arteries) constrict and your heart goes hungry. I hope this helps. ISOSORBIDE MONONITRATE is a long acting, low dose NITROGLYCERIN.
