I have the exact same problem except I came up for marijuana. My therapist used to work at a clinic and twice she had good, clean clients come up dirty. She called the lab and pestered them until they followed the chain of custody and twice in 3 years they found it was human error at the lab. I should get my results today of my first swab since the dirty one and I am terrified. I haven't used anything at all in a year. I got my take homes suspended because of this. I am really upset, when you do everything right and work hard to get and stay clean you should NOT have to worry about failing a drug test because of some other person's mistake! And because we are addicts nobody really cares. When I came up dirty I refused to leave the building until they urined me, which was of course clean, and I had a clean swab 2 weeks before. THC stays in you for 30 days. But they STILL wouldn't do anything. I am afraid my Hep C may have caused it. I guess I will find out today. I have been going down 2 mgs per week since this happened. My only real solution is get off methadone and don't ever put my life in control of any place. I was totally clean before and much better off. Methadone has caused severe depression and I need to get off it anyway. But your false test could have been lab error. Maybe someone at your clinic will care enough to have the lab track the chain of custody. Good luck, nobody at mine would bother.

Loratab is not a benzo. It's a opiate. You can easily Google that and find that information. A benzo is like Xanax or ativan or something

Lortab test as an opiate. It is pain medicine. It test as an opiate, I have drugs test for a stupid non drugs related issue and I have to take all medications to monthly meeting with pool so I don't get in trouble!!#

Recently im at the methadone clinic due to opiate use (mostly heroin) I finally was able to get off all opiates for the first time in 2-3 years.. I tested negative 3 weeks in a row for everything then a positive for opiates and I never used for a month prior.no reason to lie here, no legal issues or any other reason to lie. I do have hep c though but don't think it should make anything like positive drug screen....

It was probably lab error. Have them retest and if it still comes back the same see if you can get someone to track the chain of custody. I know personally of two instances where when they tracked the chain of custody human error at the lab was discovered. I had the same thing happen but for marijuana which I haven't used in 20 years.

Yes, it depends on where you are being tested/if they are aware of you going to the clinic. Methadone clinics require drug tests they administer occasionally, as well as other people (P.O., doctor, etc.) being able to do this. This has happened to me before randomly at the methadone clinic I go to, and I have hepatitis C as well. But for all I know, it could have been either my Hep or a human error like a nurse testing someone else and putting it in as me. I wouldn't be terribly surprised, as they use numbers for ID of who you are. But by the average of numbers/probability, getting a positive on opiates (at the methadone clinic) is more likely to be caused by some catalytic factor such as Hep C or someone trying to f*** with you. It feels like the same thing sometimes though doesn't it? Note: I might also try drinking a little bit more water if you're feeling dehydrated (one of those side effect things)...

Hey just wanna let u guys know I have been taking Milkthistle since I found out I had Hep C and not drinking ANY alcohol and now it is gone. Just had a blood test and I am totally cleared of the Hep C. Good luck to all of you:)

Hydrocodone the principal ingredient contained in Lortab belongs to the family of opiate/opiods derived from opium.It is by far the most widely abused narcotic pain medication in the America.When persons liberty and family connections are at stake it is imperative they recieve accurate valid information when they reach out for assistance in desperation.Im an intake supervisor at a reputable semi-private drug treatment center and this drug by far leads the pack in terms of abusable pharmaceutical substances.The reason it has become a cds scheduled ll drug.I hope this is helpful for those looking for information on hydrocodone like preparations.Regards

That was an outstanding and fair assessment of the operational difficulties we face as either clients or staff working with compromised patients seeking effective opiate/opiod replacement therapy.I've been on both sides of this difficult issue, first as a client now as a provider.The more accurate information available can only help bridge the gap to a kinder more acceptable climate for treatment.

The false positive I got mentioned in my last post was over a year ago and I forgot to mention besides the Hep C I also have hypoglycemia that got a lot worse while I was homeless, so my blood sugar is kinda wonky... I really don't feel like it does any good to put blame on anyone if you are feeling hurt esp. in a situation like this, but we're only human, so of course the thoughts may come to us. I just actually got another false positive and I've been clean 2 yrs with a job and an apartment and going to support groups and counseling every week. It's not like I've been slacking, so it feels like a slap in the face. But all you can really do is advocate and breathe, and just take it day by day to do what you know is best for you. Keep moving forward the best you can. Success is the best revenge...

Get off methadone! You are on the deadly road to obesity and diabetes.when i was on methadone i became highly addicted to sugar and gained 30 lbs! The clinic lied to me saying methadone doesn't have anything to do with the sugar addiction and weight gain...i was thrown off the clinic based on lies and no longer crave sugar. And yes hep c. makes drugs stay in your system for a very long time and the methadone dr should be already aware.

Methadone is a horrible drug and unless you quit you'll be prisoner to it. In my experience methadone dr's. don't care about you and will toss you off for any reason.

I have recently been diagnosed with hep-c. I am currently in an intensive outpatient program. Recently, one of my urine samples produced a false positive for cocaine. My research shows me that milk thistle can cure hep C. What is your take on this and how do I avoid testing positive for cocaine in the future?

Methadone shows up as Methadone not opiates in most UAs. This because many addicts take methadone and may be on probation, therefore a distinction between opiates or opioids and Methadone must be made.

Lortab is not a benzo. Benzo is nerve pills xanamx klonopin etc. opiates are lortab hudrocodome narco. Percacet shows up as oxycodone but is also an opiate. Not many tests show rule out wether it's oxy or hydro. But pain medication is not a benzo only xanax klonpin valium etc. I work in a clinic.

I am also on methadone and have been clean for over five years. I also have the antibodies of hep c. I am randomly tested at my clinic and for the last month my tests have been coming back positive for cocaine use and I am currently fighting for custody of my two baby's and my sobriety is very much important to me and my family, but due to my last two tests coming back for cocaine I am on the verge of loosing all i've worked for. I am not using and this cannot be possible. i've done all the research I could on false positives and why it could be and I can't seem to find any types of explanations for this. I need anyone's help in finding out how i can prove that I ain't using cocaine. Any advice on how I can find out why this is happening would be helpful. Please help. Thank u.
