Re: PISSEDATSEEKERS (# 11) Expand Referenced Message

HERE IS THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC IN A NUTSHELL, GOOGLE "DEA BUSTS WALGREENS 2013, Jupiter Florida". It turns out this is the norm for most chain pharmacies, when Walgreens was busted selling opioids off the books to Doctors, it caused a chain reaction across the state, being a victim of AGENT ORANGE poisoning (which is now legal in the state of Florida on Commercial vegetable farms, and yes we have the same issues as our soldiers did, the makers DOW CHEMICAL & MONSANTO claim the additive renders it harmless to humans (bulls***) the list of damages and illnesses it has caused is way too long to list here. The poison caused such pain that i was wheelchair bound for 2 years as we tried every traditional pain medication, it turned out the chemical change the AGENT ORANGE brought to my brain chemistry included opioid resistance, nothing worked until my pain specialist tried Methadone which contains no opioids, but has the artificial ingredient that turns on the opioid receptors in the brain, designed by the NAZI'S during WWII to allow injured soldiers to continue to fight with out the affect that Morphine has on the human body, it was as if a switch was pulled and i was able to restart rehab and finally park that damned wheelchair, though the dose was huge during rehab 200mg 3 times per day(yes that is 20 -10 mg tabs 3 times daily with virtually no side affects except relief) today i am on maintenance of 50 mg x3 and use 2 canes to ambulate, the level of pain is still a solid 6 (10 is you are on fire) it has been 13 years now 9 of which on the lower dose and holding up well(if you call living in hell, well due to all the other health problems the poison brought with it besides the pain brought on from ,DJD and complete dessication of every disc in my spine) the list is way too long to list it all here, just google the issues AGENT ORANGE brought to our soldiers who fought in Vietnam, and you will see my life since 1995, making me angry for our own government making our soldiers live through this hell by believing DOW chemical & MONSANTO's claim of being harmless to humans, when to this very day the Vietnamese populations birth defect rate is something like 60%, all brought on by this hideous chemical

My ex husband was in Vietnam as well he did not contact the Agent Orange and my heart goes out to you and your suffering. He came back with a nervous twitch. All in all a terrible war in which they did nothing for our vets coming home...until our current President who cares very much about our veterans. I know this is about pain meds but I had to jump in to thank you for your service. And I hope and pray you find some comfort soon.

Thank you for understanding how I feel about the addicted knowing my 23 year old nephew passed. He was a great kid. Why is there such a stigma of addiction?? It is a disease not a choice! We all experimented in our youth except we never stayed on it. Now being older, I know what pain really feels like. I am not addicted as I take pain med just 2-3 times a week very low dose from primary due to my RA and stenosis. But if I were addicted at this age I wouldn’t care if the doctors just left you alone.... stop lecturing people who know what’s going on and leave us be instead of the lecture and intimidation as we become a slave to your demands. It’s just awful how some doctors talk down to you at an age where I remember cigarettes being 28 cents... frickin dinosaur I am, but I wish I never saw a doctor again. What Peace I would have! They cause the stress of people’s abuses I swear..

Re: Momo (# 8) Expand Referenced Message

If it ain't broke don't fix it. People in severe pain should get pain killers. They should not have the rug pulled out from under them and spend money on methadone, or other junk that doesn't do anything for pain and increases their addiction! The powers that be should not give people new drugs that are probably harmful and don't do anything for chronic pain. If people need pain killers so they can live their lives in the least pain possible, that's what these people in power should do. They should not give these people fentanyl which is 100 times as addictive as heroin. Why not give people what works for people and leave it at that!

Does that make sense to anyone? Sure makes sense to me!!!!!

Let junkies overdose? NO.

My point is that if a person cannot move without pain, their muscles turn to mush and things get worse from there. If these people have been taking codeine, for example, so they can get through the day, being able to move without severe pain, let them keep taking it, especially if they have been taking it for years and have no desire to take anything stronger.

These decisions should be left up to their doctor and the patient, not a blanket decision by the government. Everyone is different in how they react to pain, so let their doctors who know the patient's history and the patient make these decisions.

It;s when the rug is pulled out from under them by a blanket law that people attempt to get drugs over the internet or on the streets.

Re: methadonehater (# 127) Expand Referenced Message

I’ve already addressed the person who said this. And I also appreciate your understanding as well. I hate the word “junkie” I prefer “addicted” why? Because the first makes you sound desperate, a pos sort of feeling, A person who will steal, go to jail, etc... for their fix. The second word seems milder, and if most of us cannot be without our pain meds, then we are addicted and for good reason: PAIN. So I say to people who say these words SO WHAT. At my age where kids are asking me if I saw the movie ‘Queen’ my response is “Dude, I saw them LIVE 2nd row in 1977 and 14th row in 1982.” Too funny when they just stare lol best days of my life going to concerts seeing Zeppelin, The Who, Stones etc... everyone was high back then and this was when carbitol, tuinal, sucinol pills were the rage. Anyone remember them? Sorry just reminiscing I was a drinker back then in moderation...anyway I feel for everyone here as I just had another back shot yesterday and tolerated it. But my primary just gives my 15 oxy a month. Really???? I have to interject it with NSAIDS. Pretty sad why I can’t just have 30. I’m a senior and if need taken for rest of life how long can that be and SO WHAT.

I'm going to put it plain and simple. I take Morphine and that does not give me much relief. It will take the edge off a little but I want my SOMA BACK! That was the most useful drug I was prescribed for almost 30 yrs. and now I cannot get it. I cannot find another muscle relaxer as nearly as effective as that one and believe me, I've tried all of them and even more than I've heard of or want to see again. I want to personally thank the a**hole that made that drug go away.

I'm going to sign that petition, Valerie. I too suffer from chronic pain and have been on pain meds for years. Now, they want to stop it and it hurts all of us. I don't think they make enough money off of giving pain meds that work. They are making way for new technology that costs more. We can be their guinea pigs and put money in their pockets. I know there are doctors out there who care and their hands are tied. It's sad and scary.

Re: Liberty (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I'm ready to help too! The quality of the pain meds is very bad right now!! I've been taking the same dosage pain med made by Mallinckrodt for 10 years and suddenly it is making me sick from whatever they are doing to it!! I know my body well enough that I KNOW this is making me sick!! Let the junkies and illegal users od!! I don't give a flying f***!! It's because of THEM that there is this "problem"! I've been taking medicine correctly for over 10 years!!! And I have NEVER overdosed like these a**wipes are doing!! I would also like to know if there is a kit I can buy that will let me know what is in them and how much active ingredient is in my pain meds!? They generics are garbage and I keep getting sick on them!! Thank you!

Re: ThunderHeart (# 132) Expand Referenced Message

Here we go again... calling the addicted “junkies” when these people need help. Addiction is a brain disease, not a moral failing. It is genetic, chronic, progressive and potentially deadly if left untreated. The American Medical Association labeled addiction as a disease more then 70 years ago. It should be viewed like every other chronic disease. So be careful what you say because sounds to me like you may be addicted yourself. My nephew died from this at 25. Not from a doctor but predator drug dealers on the streets, so tell me again how is this connected to a doctor? Shame on you.

Thank you... we are on the same parallel.... only thing I never had any children. Took Lorcet 10/750 from '97 to 2008, when FL started cracking down on pill clinics down So FL. Then, finally got onto SSI and Medicaid in 2011, and no more Lorcet for me in finding a new Dr.. Put on joke Norco, and took away my Sona I had taken 1, each night for over 20 years. That was the pharmacy, not the Dr. They are still manufactured and sold... pharmacies trying to get rid of them because they are an older, less expensive prescription. My insurance wouldn't cover, but was price never over $30 for 30#. Different prices, different pharmacies. My PPO told me she would give me back my Lorcet (new formula) if I gave up Soma, I agreed, she reneged and told me I could not have the Lorcet. Now guess I am lucky to have Tylenol 3.... NOT! Trying to get my State MML...

Re: ThunderHeart (# 132) Expand Referenced Message

Big Pharma has changed the way narcotics are formulated. One of my doctors showed me in a 2009 PDR (Physicians Desk Reference) and a 2018 PDR the chemical configuration difference of several different synthetic opiates. There is no longer an oxytocin release from the pituitary gland from synthetic opiates. Oxytocin is where the euphoria comes from, but if you were in enough pain (like most pain patients) you didn't get much if any euphoria. This is why your meds are barely any help to you, me and others these days. 75% of the effectiveness came from oxytocin from the pituitary gland. Now it's just the synthetic opiate itself with no help from oxytocin from the pituitary gland.

You could take a ton of pills and you'd never get high and just get sick to your stomach or even OD from the large amount of synthetic opiates you ingested. Your pain will not improve much unless the actual dosage of said pill is increased. Like 5, 10, 15 or 30mg individual dosages, not just more pills. They have all been altered to prevent that.

This is definitely one of the biggest shams pulled on the American public by our government and Big Pharma due to their FAKE opioid crisis. The brand name and generics are all altered to the new formulation. I'm on 5 times the amount I use to take just 8 years ago. I was on 6 - 5mg roxicets for almost 20 years and they worked fine. With no increase until they started reformulation of the drugs.

They tried to use the term tolerance when they started reducing and then eliminating the oxytocin release from the pituitary gland all together from the reformulation. We're paying a lot of money for inferior narcotic analgesics being produced because of the FAKE opioid crisis. I and several other people have tried to get a law firm to take a case against Big Pharma suppliers and the government for fraudulent sales of an inferior product. Even with solid evidence no law firm wants to touch it with a 10 foot poll...

They said because doctors and pharmacists were made fully aware of the reformulation that there's absolutely no case whatsoever! Plus with the opioid crisis still being employed by the government, that most if not all judges would throw out the case at summary judgement...

So... All of you out there that thought something had been done to alter the effectiveness of your life saving pain medications... You were right! It's not in your head and has absolutely nothing to do with tolerance!

I suggest anyone who doesn't believe this to find an older PDR, around 2009 and a 2019 PDR and compare the chemical tree, all information and all foot notes... Yes!, your doctor and pharmacists were complicit and fully aware of this or they don't stay on top of the medications they prescribe and dispensed to us... Playing stupid when confronted with factual evidence seems to be the norm these days...

Either way, we've all been played for stupid by the government, Big Pharma, pharmacies and doctors who were suppose to have their patients best interest at hand. They didn't!

Now you guys and gals all know the truth, it's time to let your doctor's and pharmacists know you know the truth too! Imagine doctors are being told to prescribe less of an inferior drug to their patients and be complicit...

They all have no SHAME!!!

When I found this out late last year I got insanely mad! You should too! This is your's and my quality of life! All of these charlatans have spit in our faces like we're all nitwits! For years I searched for the truth about what has been done to our meds. I always knew something had been done to the oxytocin levels and I was right! I've posted this on other sites about the REAL TRUTH! Please spread the word about the truth of what they've done...

They can't put the genie back in this bottle ever again...

DEMAND:
Reformulate our medications back to allow the oxytocin release from the pituitary gland!!!
Stop punishing suffering Americans because of your failed war on drugs!!!

To the government, GET OUT OF MY DOCTOR'S OFFICE AND HOSPITALS!!! They went to medical school and are board certified in pain management! The government isn't!

Add this to the enormous list of government involvement making something much worse and punished innocent people...

What does it matter? He was Epileptic as well, had pneumonia a year earlier and was in a coma one week. He was never the same didn’t know how to use a washer machine, knowing this he became depressed. He was a brainiac an A student dead at 25 because of a PREDATOR DRUG DEALER. You may say he had a choice, but he wasn’t the same and was in college at UMASS AMHERST. My family has been through hell and still going through it. He was put in rehab three times twice Florida once California. He was in a bubble and wanted to get out but could not! There’s no help for these kids they can sign themselves out they don’t hold you long enough there is no cure but death in most. It’s been five years and if not for my faith I’d of died with him as we were very close but he hid it. I pray for all addicted afflicted and mentally ill. Now do you get it? Anyone here should not throw the first stone.
Is it their fault your doctor won’t prescribe for you? NO.

I WANT TO KNOW IF IT IS TOO LATE FOR TRUMP TO CHANGE THE STATUS QUO. I'VE BEEN READING HIS TRASH AND HE WANTS TO PASS LEGISLATION THAT WILL MAKE IT HARDER TO BE PRESCRIBE OPIATES. I WILL TRY TO FIND THE ARTICLE AND PUT IT IN A LINK. HE WANTS TO STOP OR REDUCE OD'S WHICH I DON'T THINK WILL HAPPEN.

Stop blaming Trump. Everything that happens you people blame him. It is not him that is telling the doctors not to give out pain meds seriously? He’s just cracking down on the people who are crossing over with the drugs. And?? Try blaming the AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION and call JOHN Walters the director of drug control policy under PRESIDENT BUSH. The AMA are having conferences with doctors everywhere for prescribing meds to us. Good doctors have and will continue to be deceived by patients, and undoubtably there will be a few bad doctors who attempt to deceive others. However in the end, we must not lose sight of the millions of patients who are suffering. It’s the doctors as well. They are being told by the AMA to cut back due to drug overdoses. Blame the drug dealers as well how come nobody blames them?? They are killing our kids. Hence the wall being built. So take off your angry caps and chill.

I just read my email box from a few days ago...It says CDC director Robert Redfield m.d. for the first time suggested that his agency may be preparing to make changes to its controversial opioid prescribing guideline. It says CDC is working diligently to evaluate the impact of the guideline and clarify its recommendations to help reduce unintended harms...as a result many chronic pain patients have been denied or forcibly tapered off opioid medications and become disabled or bedridden and some have turned to alcohol and illegal pain relief. The situation has become so dire, the food and drug administration issued an unusual warning this week cautioning doctors not to abruptly discontinue or rapid taper patients....and blah, blah, blah...a lot more...so it seems someone out there is actually starting to notice a big problem or are trying to cover their ass for possible lawsuits....which to me is a bit late as too much damage has happened...I'd love to be a fly on the wall for this one..lol.
