Help With Pain Medication
UpdatedI have suffered refractory chronic head pain for over four decades, and every doctor I have ever had until a recent one prescribed a modst regime of pain medication. Now I need help locating a doctor who might be willing to prescribe again here in Portland, Oregon.

Hi Will,
I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in locating pain management doctors in your general area, who specialize in this sort of thing.
All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results:
{link removed because site no longer exists}
You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another:
wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist
Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients. Some aren't, but most usually are.
Unfortunately, no one can know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not solely on someone else's previous appointment. But I wish you the best of luck on your search and I do hope this info is of help to you!
By the way, hows the weather up in Portland? I just moved down from there almost a year ago, after living by the rose quarter for some time. I didn't realize how much it rained until I was there for a few months Lol very brutal if you grew up in sunshine all year.
David, thanks very much fior your very kind and swift reply. I appreciate it. I am especially frustrated by the prospect of having to pay $ for office visits with doctor after doctor to find the right one. But I will inspect anmd follow up on your links. I am not sure how to post a rely for you in particular but I do want to say THANKS!
Did you ever find a doctor in portland? I am in the same situation. I have fibro, I am tired of hurting.
Jeff, alas, no I have not. I am frustratwed by the prospect of ...like throwing darts at lists of doctors in a telephone book, I just have NO idea how to go about this. My county doctor has asked me to go see a couple of non-County doctors, because he believes I am a good candidate for opiates but he is prohibited from prescribing due to Opiate Committee draconian rulings. Right now I am totally at a loss. Sorry.
