Help! Primary Doc Not Prescribing My Pain Meds In Wa State

I live in Tacoma, Wa, I work in the medical field and have two lift injuries by lifting very obese patients (I'm 5'2). I had help on L&I but now different things flair it up. I have an unhealed neck hernia that hurts daily. Now my doc skirts the issue and last visit after I lifted something kinda heavy and came in for a bad flair up he said it is something I will have to learn to live with. My daughter is only 20 months and loves to be picked up but even this is painful half the time! I'm also newly diagnosed bipolar so he is blaming my pain symptoms on my brain chemistry which I think is a load of crap. Please help me find someone who has a heart.

Hi Schwarjm,

I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. I don't know of any doctors to refer you to, but I just thought I'd ask if you've tried other methods of pain management besides medication? The medication only takes away the pain, but won't heal the inflamed and damaged areas.

I've personally had success with acupuncture and acupressure, the acupuncture healed a painful nerve in my foot! Have you tried either of those methods? I know of some other homeopathic treatment methods for pain management if you'd like me to post more information.
