I have started a 12 wk program of Harvoni this is day 4 ,, Iam having head aches they come and go but are never far away , they seem to always be in the back ground , Is this normal or what ????? ## Hi Michael, Sorry to hear about the headaches you've been having lately. According to the manufacturer, headaches are actually reported to be one of the most common side effects of Harvoni in clinic trials. However my findings go on to state that you should contact your doctor if the symptoms become too bothersome or severe. On that note, I would even consider inquiring about alternative treatment options, knowing that headaches associated with Harvoni may or may not go away on their own until you stop taking what's causing it to begin with. Hello, I am Hans (71 years). I live in Germany. I've been taking Harvoni for 6 weeks. I am happy that I have no problems and no side effects. I started with a viral load of 1.1 million. The fist blood test after 14 days had a reduction to 94 (!). In 2 days I shall see my doc again. I'm curious about the new result (I hope ZERO). Good luck to all. ## 10 more days to go with the harvoni.. Did have some side effects: Confusion, anxiety, insomnia and some hair loss... I have just begun Harvoni, this will be my sixth day. After the third day I noticed a change in how I am tasting foods. They are more sweet and foods that have a fat content are more heavy and cloying. Has anyone else experienced things like this? ## After my husband finished the 8 weeks course of Harvoni, on May 20, 2015, he came down with a very bad cold. A lot of coughing. And at that point- he lost his sense of smell and sense of taste completely. Will this medication make thc stay in your system longer than normal? Or is this med flushing out old thc? I have been postive for thc for almost 7 weeks. It's a problem. ## I did 12 week's of Harvoni about 2 year's ago. Since then I test positive for cocaine. I don't do cocaine. Not on any antibiotics, don't drink tonic water, no kidney disease, not diabetic. Can't figure out why I test positive since I took Harvoni. Will medically prescribed marijuana interfere with harvoni treatment? ## Throughout treatment you may be given a drug panel and, should you come back positive, it can compromise your continued treatment (getting your medication...). I certainly wouldn't risk it. ## @Pepper, As far as potential drug interactions are concerned, I haven't seen documented research suggesting that there's any risk involved with marijuana and harvoni. So my personal opinion is that because you know your body better than anyone else and how these drugs might be affecting you individually (from previous experience - assuming this isn't your first time taking either substance), perhaps a suggestion would be to start with a much smaller dose than you'd typically have for the sake of understand...

Completed 8 weeks of Harvoni. Still having diahhrea (daily) and very tired 4 months later (sleep 10+ hours per night & get 1-2 hours nap during day). ## Unfortunately, many people do experience lingering effects for several months after completing their course of treatment with Harvoni, as reported by the FDA. I am going crazy. I have never felt right on this. I was 24 weeks on Harvoni, and had been bedridden since then due to my liver, back issues, pain, headaches, chest discomfort, unable to swallow, see clearly, and have nausea constantly. ## Those can be typical side effects of this medication according to the FDA. I had a 12 week course of Harvoni for Hep C (following a car accident in 1996)...my Hep C was found then (jaundice and then testing)...liver enzymes returned to normal after a few months and I was told to wait to treat, that eventually there will be something better than interferon... I waited and was trilled with the Harvoni results, mild side effects; but, about 3-4 months after Harvoni, I started having terrible easy bruising in my shins, lower legs and I developed ventricular tachycardia and other heart problems, ended up with a defibrillator and three heart medications...I just finished treatment for a leg ulcer that developed from a bruise! .... I have been taking Harvoni for 6 weeks now I'm beginning to experience dizziness, I also take amlodipine 10 mg but space Meds as directed 4 hours after I've taken the Harvoni I've had other issues such as Large B Cell Lyphoma cancer its in remission basically just quiet. I did 12 weeks of Harvoni and cleared the virus, finished treatment June 7th 2015. During treatment had some edema of feet and legs, it went away. I'm 64 yrs old, geno 3 hvc, I have emphasemia, fibroscan 7.1 (not too bad), viral load high. I'm considering tx, but worried about side effects as I don't feel too bad except for my age and shortness of breath. I've been told the older you are and level of viral load, plus how long you have been positive increases side effects. Is it worth doing when you are older and don't feel bad as of yet? ## It all depends, I think, on how well your liver is functioning. What stage are you with the HCV? Do you have cirrhosis? If so, how bad is the cirrhosis. I did the Harvoni at your age. I think maybe you should consider treatment. Liver disease is a horrible, drawn out ending.

Shortly after treatment with harvoni I noticed a clear mucous leaking from my but ## I also have had a clear slimy mucous leaking from my butt after a 12 week treatment with Harvoni It has changed to now having leakage of liquid stool and pooping out mucous strings with no BM I have been to several doctors with no answer but I am scheduled for tests of nerve damage in anal sphincter. ## From what I've read, diarrhea is reported to be one of the most common side effects of Harvoni (ledipasvir + sofosbuvir). Can metoprolol and harvoni be taken together? I am on metoprolol and now I need to start harvoni. Should I be monitored? ## They can be taken together, if your doctor has instructed you to take them both, but yes, you should be monitored regularly by your doctor. Im halfway through a 12 week course and am exhausted for no reason.... I have only been sick twice from the drug but other than that a dull headache with sort of fogginess and extreme tiredness is really the only side effects for me... slightly upset in the stomach but I was before I started.... I was just reading that others felt tired too, well I hope it goes away soon... So I was recently given harvoni the hepatitis c drug, but I also have cirrhosis of the liver, polyps on my gull bladder, & an enlarged spleen, & I was released from doctors care in fear of dea trouble, & pardon me but the stupid doctor thinks that harvoni is the ultimate cure. I went to the doctor yesterday and the urine test showed hydrocodone, but I haven't taken taken any hydrocodone. Can Harvoni have a false positive for hydrocodone in my drug test?
