Hello,

Based on my research, Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic (water pill) that is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention (edema).

If you experience any of the following side effects, contact your doctor:

Headache, loss of appetite, mild diarrhea, constipation, or stomach upset, mild skin rash or itching, problems with intercourse.

If you notice any of these severe side effects, call your doctor immediately:

Blistering, peeling, or red skin rash, blood in the urine or stools, blurred vision or changes in vision, dry mouth, increased thirst, muscle cramps, nausea, or vomiting, fever chills, cough, hoarseness, sore throat, body aches and more.
