I have been taking Siltussin for 1 week now. My doctor wasn't in so the other doctor who was on call at the time, gave me Siltussin to take for a head cold because I have a thyroid condition. Please advise whether Siltussin can cause flu-like symptoms? ## Siltussin is listed as containing the active ingredient Guaifenesin, it is most commonly used to help alleviate congestion from colds, and allergies. The FDA does warn that it can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and headache, as side effects, so some issues may seem similar to having a flu, if you experience them. Ref: Siltussin Information However, it is also possible that you've caught the flu. What types of symptoms are you experiencing?

4 REPLIES UpdatedWhat is this pill? ## I have looked everywhere for information about a white oblong pill that has the impressions of ph 073 on it. No other markings. Pill identifier has no listing nor does poison control. Any assistance is much appreciated. ## Is it possibly PH 063? We have discovered that tablet to be 400mgs of Guaifenesin, a generic or store brand of Mucinex. If it really is PH 073, then it is also more than likely an oTC item, which would explain why it's not in any databases and also why poison control didn't know what it is. OTC items are not required to have their markings logged by the government. You can see several threads about the one with the PH 063 marking here: It is highly possible that this is the same substance, but in a different dosage. ## This pill PH 063 is...

2 REPLIES UpdatedI was taking 2 pills per day (1AM & 1PM)of EX400 Gauifenesin to loosen thick mucous for 3 days and stop, then I experience sudden severe nausea and vomiting (6x) for 3 hours. Then I took Reglan & Benadryl to stop the dizziness and vomiting. ## Reglan?? Oh my!! Have you not seen all the warnings about reglan and tardiff disconesia sp? I used to take reglan for swallowing until it started to make my face grimace!! As for Guafenesin / Guafinex (cough syrup) you should see the properties in that drug. My sister has a seizure disorder and if anything cold-related is treated with Guafenesin or anything containing Guafinex ...she is screwed, and automatically goes into seizure state. So I would be careful of BOTH ## Amy, how are you doing, now? Just taking it for 3 days should not caus...
