To start, you are already on the right track to helping her, just by posting on here. There are many users within this forum that have the personal experience of tapering off these medications.

Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them.

I think the thread below can provide some helpful advice on withdrawing from these medications (suboxone, norco, and methadone are also mentioned as being helpful in the case of very serious addicts):

If this girl is a very serious addict then you may want to look into those for her; however in my opinion it would be wise to search and ask around on some of the other forums on this site, so you can get advice from someone with personal experience on this.
