Going Off Triamterene
UpdatedI have been on Triamterene for a month. I was using this for possible Menierre Disease. However, after a second opinion I was told it was not Menierres and to get off pill. Will I experience any withdrawal symptoms after being on it for a short time?

How did you find out it wasn't Meneer's Disease? What is your diagnosis as of now? I was diagnosed with Meneer's Disease and get super dizzy and have to force myself to go to sleep. Even then I wake up with it still. It's the absolute worst feeling I don't wish it upon my worst enemy!!! I've tried every drug in that catorgy n as of now I'm on Promethazine. I'm supposed to take it every day but I only take it when I have an attack or feel it coming on. It sucks to live day to day not knowing when I'm gonna have an attack it makes life a living hell!! It's been a month an as half since I've had an episode and it happened at home thank God!!! Any advice on how you deal with the dizziness or the disease is much appreciated. Hope your getting better keep in touch
I got a 2nd opinion. This Dr feels my issue was more of a viral infection in the inner ear and possible positional vertigo instead. He said by my ear test and based on other things he just didn't feel it was Menierre at this time. I'm hoping he is right! I have Meclizine that I use. But my primary care gave me a low dose of valuim. I am trying not to take that. I do not like it at all!! Good luck!!
Well I did the test for positional vertigo had to go to a sports doc (rehab place) no luck I've taken the Mecelizine n no luck there. I do have valium but only take when needed. It sucks living my life in fear EVERYDAY wondering if I'm gonna get an episode. No one understands or gets how horrible it REALLY is!!! Guess I'll just deal with it what else can I do?
I am very sorry about what both of you have been dealing with, I've been there, due to my blood pressure medications,
Thus, my first question, are either of you on any other medications? Have you ever had high blood pressure? When do you experience such issues?
I am curious as to whether or not it might be orthostatic hypotension, which can be caused by blood pressure issues, certain medications to treat it, or other medical conditions, according to NIH reports.
Re: RAWDOG (# 3)
Try DiVertigo. It is an all natural topical oil applied behind the earlobe. I have meniers. My last vertigo attacks were back in 2008. I was having them every other day to every other 3 days, this went on for a year. I went to ENTs, Neurologists, had many MRIs, was put on meclizine, valium, and triamterene. Nothing helped until I ran across a medical magazine and saw the add for Divertigo. I was desperate so I ordered it. Long story short, its been a true life saver for me. It really helped me. Before trying this the meniers was completely disabling. I couldn't work, drive, take care of my kids. I layed in bed puking all day. It was so scary I thought I was dying. I haven't been sick or had any more vertigo attacks since 2008. You should atleast check into it.
