I've been a diabetic for the past 10 years. However, for the last six months I have been taking Gluconorm-PG2 twice a day. What are the side effects of this medication? Could it lead to water retention and stomach bloating?

It's actually a very similar medication, but this one contains Glimepiride with the Metformin and both have been proven effective at helping to control blood sugar.
Narisimha, have you consulted your doctor? This medication can increase flatulence, which may explain the bloating.
And as to whether or not a switch is advisable, what have your blood sugar levels been on the other medication?
I am diabetic as well for the last 10 years and have been using Iscept forte tablets twice a day. Recently another doctor said that it would be better to switch to Gluconorm PG2. Has anyone else made the switch from Iscept forte to Gluconorm PG2?
