Updated November 9, 2017

Should i be honest with my new dr and tell him i was released from a pain clinic because no opiates were detected in my U/A? I am in so much pain that i did take an extra one here and there throughout the month. Please advise!

Honesty is always the best policy in my opinion. Especially if they have this sort of patient-information readily accessible in their system, it would be embarrassing to get caught red-handed and then flagged from receiving further treatment. From what I understand (and this may just be a rumor for all I know, so please take it for what you will...), all of the patient's medical records are reportedly shared/accessible between any doctors/pharmacists across the country to monitor doctor shopping, failed drug panels, filling early prescriptions and other related discrepancies. That is what I read from other patient stories here throughout this forum, but it does not necessarily mean every doctor or pharmacist is that thorough or doesn't want to help someone who's clearly in need. Moral obligation (the oath they took) 'should' make them feel obliged to assist you with any documented need for pain management.

Please post back if you have any updates on how things went!
