Getting Prescriptions From 2 Different Doctors For Pain Meds But There Are Conditions (Page 9)
UpdatedWell I just really need to know if what I am doing is considered doctor shopping. I fell at at department store and injured my knee. Now I have to go to the doctor the lawyer sent me to. He prescribes pain meds for me but the only thing he can treat is my knee. I started having back problems. My primary care doctor sent me to a different doctor and he also gives me meds. But the pharmacy said they would call the doctors and tell on me. So I went and ahead and told the doctors myself so that it would not look as bad. What do you think will happen to me? The pharmacy refused to give me back my prescription. Can they do that?
Iam anand,am a sleeping pills addiction patient. Now doctor gave valparin300, olanzapine5. My brain toomuch cloudly all the day .so what i do?
Anand, first call the doctor. The Olanzapine is a neuroleptic used for schizophrenia did he diagnose you with that? That is the lowest dosage so presume he is giving to you at HS (bedtime). Call and ask for instructions. If you can tolerate coffee that might help.
Anand, hope you are well due to my own hectic rush and dealing with the system I did want to check back with you. You state you are addicted to sleeping pills; it appears that the psychiatrist is treating you for a psychotic disorder; schizophrenia is the first diagnostic criteria approved for Olanzapine, but if you are also diagnosed with bipolar and are in manic phase they will treat you with an anti manic drug; the earliest used were such as Lithium, and it sounds like he is doing so (or she), with something at hour of sleep to decrease psychosis.
It takes some tolerance to get used to reducing the manic phase of bipolar with these medications; did the physician mention getting blood work every 7 to 10 days to start out?
I'd suggest strongly talking to him on the phone and not interrupting new medications unless they are really presenting adverse reactions. Anti manic medications need to process in the blood stream and for example rapid cyclers who drop from manic to depression very fast must have some time on medications in order they adjust and benefit.
No you will not be in trouble. This only pertains to narcotics. If you went to one dr and got valium and another and got Xanax yes that's bad. And if you go to one dr for oxycodone an another for hydrocodone yes you will get in trouble. But Remember rhis is in regards to narcotics only.
Jenny who are you replying to everyone is referring to opioids. Duh!
I was replying to the person that asked if Seeing two different doctors for blood pressure meds Would be an issue. aa for who I didn't pay attention to their name but if you would like to know its in the thread. They went to one dr didn't like the dr got a script for blood pressure and went to another one and had another script written and they were worried. I know what everyones talking about. I posted an Informative post about the narcotic monitoring system and that's why im on this thread. Opoids. just because it wasn't an opiod Question doesn't mean one of us shouldn't take the time to Answer
Go to the thread and comment # 148. This person was worried and while I was on this thread for opiates and earlier on I commented on opiates why is that you feel a "duh" is in order. This person didn't know and deserved an answer. Their name on here is "worried". Anymore info you need to know ?
Jenny clearly the people in need and a few addicts and floaters are most recent check the dates for recent posts.
Regardless of some older post you reply to YOUR post appears with recent.
Further doctor shopping applies to non opioid therapy also my dear we all can thank Odumma for this.
Duh.

Iam using valparin300mg 2tablets and olanzapine5mg tablet daily night once with psychiatrist doctor advice. But my brain toomuch cloudly all the day. I drink coffe daily 3times but no result. How to reduce my cloudness? Any tablets? Please give a advice
Iam drinking cofee daily 3times. But till have cloudness.what to do?
Anand hi glad to hear from you call the psychiatrist and ask him if adjustments can be done. You may need blood draw to see if the anti manic drug is too high hang in there <3
Iam using valparin300mg and olanzapine500mg with the neuro psychiartist doctor advice. But my brain toomuch cloudness all the day. So i can't do the daily works.how to overcome this cloudness?
Anand, only the physician can rearrange the medication. I am a professional nurse and a published psychiatric (scholarly) researcher. Many do not like caffeine used with the psychotropics but it is if not contraindicated a way many get more alert while working.
It sounds like this is NEW medication so the body must adjust. Are you trying to go to bed at a reasonable time so that if you have an early work start you are rested? Are you trying to eat properly? All of this is necessary.
I'd say he diagnosed BIPOLAR disorder; did he indicate if you are a rapid cycler? In these cases sometimes during depressive drops the medications for mania are too much making you sleepy.
I want you to call the office; tell him or his nurse to call you that YOU CANNOT accomplish work on your current medication.
Let us try this first ok?
Anand you mean or stated the Olanzapine was 5 mg. This if the proper dosage should be taken at HS (hour of sleep) or you will feel cloudy.
Were you having hallucinations prior to these new medications. For example hearing voices or seeing things that were not real? If so the cloudiness is just a positive effect of the neuroleptic making the hallucinations dissipate. It is disconcerting for some for example with schizophrenia who over time adjust to the hallucinations and in particular when they gain secondary status.
U r rude. It wasn't a old comment it was # 148 which was recent and I know this. Im in pain MANAGEMENT and I work in a medical office and my husband is a pharmacist and if I choose to help someone not asking about opiates I'll do so. THX You are childish if you Think we shouldn't help others that are in regards to non narcotic.
And you are clearly wrong. I work as an Office manager in a dr office and my husband is a pharmacist so don't try and educate me.
Anaud y,
Hello Anand or Anand y, PLEASE. I agree with P450 100% in that you MUST call YOUR DOCTOR/PHYSICIAN re: your prescriptions. So far you've mentioned 4 different medicines which you do not understand what they are or they don't agree with you, causing unwanted/unacceptable side effects preventing your being able to complete the work you're assigned. PLEASE, type the names of the last two drugs you mentioned into your Google browser bar. You'd be amazed what you can find out about side effects caused by certain drugs. Mostly tho, take the advice of P450 and CALL YOUR DOCTOR ASAP! All positive thoughts and energies to you! AND good luck!
Sasha agreed well put :)
The physician needs to explain why these medications are prescribed.
If you are taking a medication and you do not know why then how are you going to be able to tell if it is working? Unless there is court order your doctor has to tell you what medication he is prescribing and for what condition. Never tale any medication until your questions are answered. Doctors do make mistakes.
