Generic For Metanx? (Page 3)

I refilled my Rx for Metanx and it was a different color. I asked and the druggist said this was a generic for Metanx. I refused the Rx and went to another drugstore with my Rx. Am I wrong? Is there a generic for Metanx?

You can get a 3 month prescription from Brand Direct for $178, you mail them your original prescription, I called them first for price quote and address to mail check to then went on automatic refill. They are very nice. You can get it in 3 months or 1 month supplies which works best for you. They are very helpful and kind. Call them and check it and get the real Metanx, the pills are cream and light yellow with imprint on them, that is the real Metanx, not purple/pinkish like the generic brands!

1. Is Foltanx as effective as Metanx in helping to relieve Peripheral Neuropathy in the lower extremeties? (I don't know if Metanx is helpful since I never used it).
2. Does any one know WHERE I can get a low price for Metanx? 2 months ago I got
90 Foltanx tabs at $60 in my local CVS in New Milford, NJ, with a coupon that I was told is INVALID today.

You can get 60 tablets of Foltanex for $38 or 90 tablets for $55 at Walgreen's with a pharmacy coupon. I was skeptical but I just did it and it worked fine. Coupons are also available for purchasing at other stores but the cost is much higher. I don't understand why the price at Walgreens with a coupon is so much lower but it works.

I pay $50 per month for Metanx. My podiatrist wrote on my prescription "Brand medically necessary" . I have Cigna health insurance. I have type 2 diabetes. Earlier this week my husband went to pick up my Metanx and the pharmacist said the insurance company no longer cover this medicine. While I was on the phone with Cigna, my husband called the pharmacy because Cigna claims there is an over the counter brand available.After speaking with a supervisor, Cigna claims the FDA no longer considers Metanx a prescription drug??? How can they do that????

You are incorrect if the labeling on Foltanx s as follows, which it is UNLESS a manufacturer is cheating. Therefore, Metanx = Foltanx

3mg of activated B9 (L- methytetrahydrofolate calcium) - this name is shorten by many names
2mg of activated B12 (methylcobalamin)
35mg of activated B6 (pyridoxal 5 phosphate)

Activated means the vitamin is immediately ready to be used by the body's functions of the cell. The body doesn't need to convert the the vitamin into the activated form to be used, a simple biochemical process!

The wording of generic is incorrect. There are other prescription foods; that are vitamins which are exactly the same as Metanx! How about one called Foltanx? Generic connotes drug; Metanx is not a drug; generic doesn't apply. Do not let anyone fool you with the statement, "There is no generic to Metanx."
