Generic Subutex/buprenorphine - Which Manufacturer Do You Prefer? (Page 4)

Updated

Hello All,

I recently just got changed from suboxone to subutex due to a pretty bad allergic reaction to the naloxone in the suboxone. Basically my question for everyone is which generic do you guys prefer? My pharmacist can order any kind for me so at the moment I just got the Roxanne ones 8mg - they are white round tablets. This is my first day using and am already noticing my migraines are starting to subside, not fully, but starting to. So yeah if anyone has any suggestions please let me know all the ups and downs that you guys have been experiencing, thanks!

Good luck to one and all!

D

Teva bupe has been discontinued. Idk why, as it was by far the best generic. Teva now makes a generic bupe/naloxone, but no straight bupe anymore. Alot of people were disappointed because it was hands down the best generic.

The more I read about the generic suboxen tabs the more confused I get about what brand I should get. I got the peach lemon/lime tabs mfg: ROXA. In my opinion the name brand strips are way stronger. I really didn't expect that or even think about that maybe happening but also would really like to sticks with the tabs. The strips just come with to much packaging, I feel like when I take it I always have to look in the mirror to place it in the correct spot and storage always crosses my mind. Taking strips camping can become a problem when it comes to keeping them in a dry/room temperature place. I am reading a lot about the white 8 mg tabs with the moon on them. The thing of it is people have posted them with different manufacturers and different pharmacys they are available at. I would like to call around to find d them but I don't want to just say do u have the ones with the "moons" on it. Can someone help me out with this. Who is the actual manufacturer & where can I find them ?

I have had both of those too and with my experience they seem to be the same strength and both are good but do stay away from the orange ones and the small white ones

I live in southeast Tennessee and the DEA is cutting back on all Subutex and I think everyone needs to get off of them because they are going to be discontinued and then you will be sick so in my experience you need to start cutting back so you can worm yourself off

My reaction was I got blue and red spots on my genitals and my rectum when I used the bathroom with bleach. I was coughing up blood, I was bleeding from my eyes and my nose and my ears. I almost died. I was in a coma for 2 months due to taking Suboxone. It is the worst drug. It is nothing but a masking agent, it's substituting One Drug for another, so for everyone get off of all the dope or you would be dependent on it for the rest of your life.

Teva's? From where? And is it straight Subutex? With no naloxone? And are you in NY State?

Carries what right now? Thats what the question is? Who carries what and what is better than what? So it you just say CVS carries them, that could mean several different things.

I agree. I went to the CVS pharmacy to pick up my Subutex and was treated like a human being and not a junkie. Which is the way I think it should be Everywhere. I went to the methadone clinic for three years and it was humiliating. It was all about the money for them. I I quit cold turkey after I realized that I had traded the Oxsee cotton any type of painkiller I could get my hands on for another drug withdrawals were 10 times worse from the methadone than anything I've ever experienced after taking 120 mg a day for 3 1/2 years to nothing I thought I was going to die. .I was three years clean and then I heard the voices again saying I can control the pain killers and just take enough to take away the pain in my back and I was just kidding myself so I found myself in the same boat I was lucky enough to find a doctor and I've been on the Subutex half a year with great results. That your original point though yes I agree with you it was a pleasant experience from the other pharmacies that I got my Subutex felt from prior. I would recommend CVS to anyone who feels uncomfortable picking up their prescriptions they shouldn't have to deal with that kind of treatment from a pharmacy. Godspeed to all of you.

I can honestly say subutex saved my life. I have been on it since 2005 and will for the rest of my life. Opiate addiction is a brain disease. The mu receptors get depleted when we stop treatment. We have incredible urges and compulsions. I was in a very reputable rehab and found an addictionologist and a shrink to help with my lifetime addiction to opiates. I am 58 now. I have relapsed only 3 very brief times. Honesty is vital to sustained recovery. I told my Dr. Subutex and suboxone have a ceiling effect. If you take more than 24mgs you are wasting the medicine. So being an addict I abused this too and learned the hard way. I have always taken the Roxane brand. I still have times I may want to relapse but it is brief. I pray, take a walk, help someone else, I do not dwell on it. A craving can only last 30 seconds, we cannot have 2 thoughts at the same time. Also I have read an implant is becoming available soon. Better absorption. Good luck and God bless.

Hello there :) I was wondering where or what pharmacy you get your prescription filled at for the Mylan Subutex? I have been having a hard time finding a pharmacy with the Mylan for some reason Roxanne and other popular brands like hi tech don't seem to be working or helping with the sickness like the Mylan thank you so much for your help

I would recommend the Mylan and not the teva. According to pharmasist and doctors, there is no difference between the two as far as buprenorph and naloxone potency goes but I can promise you that there must be. When I was switched to teva from the mylan, I felt like I wasn't even getting my dose. The mylan has a stronger taste but disolves much faster then the teva. After being on the teva for almost 4 months, I was switched back to the mylan and instantly felt better then I had been in those four months of teva. I hope this helps. Good luck

Absolutly not mylan. I would never take them again. Ive been on subutex 24mg for 16yrs.I take the Roxane brand.white with 514 .. They are the best.

Yeah, I just had mylan (m924l last month and I must say it was a nightmare. They have more of a chemical taste and aftertaste and are inconsistent in how strong and how long they last. With the Roxanne (54 411) they are always the same strength and always last the duration. I had to switch to Wal-Mart for my bupe because it seems like every other pharmacy around here is switching to mylan for their wholesale brand (or they have that hi tech garbage) and insurance companies rarely willing to pay the difference causing the pharmacy to lose $200-$300 every time they fill my 90# script.

I live in TN and it is becoming a real issue to find a pharmacy to fill sub at all... My regular pharmacy just told me the other day they were out until further notice and the next one i tried said they were also out waiting on a shipment and that seems to be an issue with a lot of our local pharmacies or they just refuse to carry them at all!!!

This is funny my real name is Roxanne. But I liike you have been on this brand many yrs. My pharmacy told me yesterday they are replacing with v-tech. So I called CVS they have the Roxane brand. In my experience they are the best. Sime pharmacies want stock due to the price and they loose money. Thank God they are still plentiful. I havent heard anything about this brand being discontinued.
