Generic Suboxone Which Is Better Cvs Or Walgreens
Updatedwho has been suboxone CVS or walgreens.I know thwy are generic but which is better of the two
You're really asking a subjective question, because a generic that works well for one person may not work that well for you and vice-versa.
What you really need to discover is which one works best for you.
Learn more Suboxone details here.
Have you had problems with any that you've tried?
Walgreens or CVS has the exact same thing when it comes to suboxen, not sure what dose you are on but an 8mg suboxen strip will have 6mg of buprenorphine and 2mg of naloxone.
The difference between the two.... Walgreens has the orange generics and cvs has the white generics. I had both and imo, they're exactly the same. But if I had to choose, I would go with walgreens only bc in my head I feel as though they're closer to the brand name.
There are no pill forms of Suboxone now FYI, only the name brand films or SUBUTEX, in pill form which is not Suboxone and is usually only used in certain circumstances, but is financially cheaper.
Subutex is generally prescribed to pregnant or breastfeeding mothers since the side effects, so far, are almost nonexistent. Sometimes it is prescribed in place of Suboxone if you experience chronic headaches from such.
Although awhile back pharmacies were phasing out the old suboxone and did still have it available for filling if your doctor did not specify if you're to be prescribed the films or tablets, but once those are gone your left with the films as your only option until, probably phased in for the same reasoning, patents for a generic film are allowed. Which is usually seven years after the initial...unless there's a pandemic then patent laws are tossed aside.
FDA only recently approved generics for suboxone. But they are not on sales yet. as far as i know...Generics are the same thing. It may taste different but i do not understand why people would pay more money for any branded medication.....

Again, go to suboxone.com and ask for 1 year free program.
Yeah I asked the pharmacist the other day and he told me they still make the suboxone tablets and there are generics of the tablet but not the films.
Suboxone pharmaceutical company has a program called Here to Help, two versions actually the one is just a recovery group but they'll give the info you need if you call by accident. Anyway if you have no insurance your prescription is covered for a year, and each doctor is allowed only three patients at a time enrolled so you might havr to wait. But its worth checking into! I have the contact info if anyone needs it, or just ask your docs office if they have a free spot, a lot patients don't know about it so you may have a chance.
To start, there are many different strengths of suboxone/generic buprenorphine + naloxone, however, the eight mg contains 8mgs of bupe, not 6. How did anyone ever get the idea that the 2 different ingredients would be added together to get the product strength amount even though one is inactive when taken correctly and only put in to deter abuse and has absolutly no theraputic effect or value whatsoever? It is called 8/2mg because thats what it is, otherwise itd be a 6/2mg. Accurately, by the nature of the formulation it'd have to be 6/1.5mgs, as a matter of fact. Next, we'll move on to the person who thinks that there are no tablets, just films or straight bupe/subutex. I've been taking the Actavis brand generic for 10 of the last 11 months and tried the Amneal generic for one month (big mistake).
At least in this case its harmless information that can't hurt anyone at least as far as i can see. However, in many cases a naive individual can really screw themselves up when their knowledge is inaccurate. So i ask all that read this to please only post accurate facts. Somebodys safety just may depend on it.
Generics tablets have been out for a year as of this monthand there are 2 different brands. Actavis (white, quarter moon logo) is carried by CVS, Ameal (orange round, imprint AN over 415) is generally carried by Walgreens. In my opinion the white tab by Actavis blows the others out of the water. I go to Rite Aid where my pharmacist orders me whatever i want and treats me with totalrespect. There is a note in my file that says Actavis brand only. The orange generic is total crap IMO. There is a branf name drug called Zubsolv that is pretty good it just doesnt last as long sometimes. Those have been out since .Sept '13. To the person who said there were only strips and generic tex, i apologize for tearing you up under 1citcumstance: if you reside in the statevof West Virginia. The reason being that due to political reasons and shady R.B pharm reps, tablets are illegal and only strips are allowed. In that case, one could easily believe that strips are all there is without being totally brainless. However if this is not the case, I'd like to suggest you string up, before you procrate and continue to dumb down humanity, you brainless d-bag!!
Jeremy stop being a troll. It's not a sign of incompetence that I was misinformed initially about the existence of suboxone tablets even still being marketed.
Somehow actually educating myself and proceeding to share the information the pharmacist gave me makes me fall short on the evolutionary ladder?
Sounds like you need a xanax prescription to go with the suboxone, YOUR short comings are pretty evident.
Have a lovely day, you angry, egotistical little man.
Furthermore when implying stupidity towards others, at least have the common decency to utilize spellcheck.
Good thing I'm as stupid as you believe so I could gather some basic understanding of the ineptitude that are your "insults".
Sorry for the hot headedness. I had a friend almost die because she went into precipitated withdrawels because she read that someone said straight bupe didnt have a blocker, so thought it was safe to take 6hrs after smack. When she got horrendously sick she didnt think to call me, but instead took a whole bunch of s*** and ended up o.d-ing. Shes fine now, kinda, but it just pissed me off so i was real irate with people posting misinformation for about 48 hours or so. Others on other sites got it a lot worse than you guys. Once again, im sorry. Wasnt trying to be a troll, was just super pissed and didnt deal with it the right way.
I just see no where that I ever referenced anyone taking anything. The only piece of ill advised info I gave pertained only to thinking there was no generic. I don't see anything in my previous comments advising anyone that suboxone or subutex is okay to use along with narcotics.
Perhaps you read someone else's.
Im well aware that suboxone contains both bupe and nalaxone. I've experienced precipitated withdrawal myself and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. You shouldn't jump the gun and be so hard pressed to bash people you haven't read their statement clearly and you don't have the pleasure of knowing.
Ash
No it was not you, sorry. I was pissed about something somewhere else and i saw this thread and it got me going again. Im not usually like that. My apologies once again.
I'm glad people still reply to old posts, because often I have the same issue, so the answers help ME!
That's incorrect an 8mg sub has 8mg of bup. And 2mg of nalax
dude, they have had generic suboxone pills for 2 years. get your facts strait before u go on talking about things u apparently know nothing about!!!
I feel like suboxin has me in the same boat that my pill addiction
I'm sorry I just feel like. I still have a problem I tend to take more than I should I feel like there is no hope for me. Am I the only one?
I personally like the generic white ones that CVS has better than the generic pink ones that walgreens has which are also OK. the white ones seem to kick in faster harder last a little longer and my opinion. don't let them switch you to that new zubsolv. Its garbage and doesn't last near as long
WRONG! 8mg buprenorphine & 2mg naloxone. there are. no 6mg subs

I’m not sure about that but I can tell you that Wallgreens and Walmart Walmart get the same generic, then CVS and Rite Aid use the same distributor as each other. So if you don’t like CVS, you won’t like Rite Aid, but Walgreens and Walmart might be OK.
Re: J (# 2)
They are not the same bc wen I went to walgreen that brand made me relapse bc it don’t work
I definitely have noticed as well as my sister, both of us being on Subutex for years, 8 mg, that the distributor that CVS uses for their generic Subutex seems so much more potent, long-lasting, and overall much more helpful to us both. It just seems like it's a better grade, higher quality generic-made pill, than the generic pill that Walgreen's uses from their distributor.
Re: Taylor (# 3)
Not true. I go to CVS and they give me the orange sublingual tabs. Unless you're talking about the strips? Which I thought all the strips were sublingual.
Only white round 5411 ! There’s another one that’s white and round with a B on it all the rest I cannot stand and I have tried them all they’re trash the rest of them
Re: Ash (# 4)
Well I have been using CVS for awhile when it comes to all my scripts (antibiotics/migraine) switched from Walgreens because 1 pharmacist was making it clear Suboxone (even thou has turned my life around; finished my BA; every aspect of my life) treated me continually like I was less of a person & made it very difficult to fill!!
Now I have been using CVS & just recently told me they refuse to fill anymore (been doing for over a year) because last year I switched insurance (health first; to blue cross?? : I never use insurance: use my gold x card ; because of course u could have best insurance but they make it so u can not to use) But now in almost Oct I am denied & need to find another place to fill?? But will still take my money for my other scripts ?? Saying if I had my health first (even though I don’t use either) & not Blue Cross the will not fill!!! Makes no sense??
Wow I have seen so many people turn their lives around w Suboxone & the way u r treated is ridiculous & something that can help so many because there is more than an epidemic of COVID but bigger one w substance abuse?? And this could change & SAVE so many lives if they could wake up & see & not make u jump thru hoops & run around like a circus clown to fill??
I continue to take Suboxone due to a bad auto accident & refuse all opiates (for years) due to what happened in my life prior & this only thing that works for my leaky spine & pain!!
I am not a scum bag & nor is anyone trying to turn their lives around!! Sad we are treated that !! And shameful!! When u can only find clinics to help & of course nothing covered by insurance (oh all insurance company say there are Dr that r covered ; nope!!) so very sad & sad to me CVS has now joined that class of pharmacists that r judgy & rude!!
And to think this could be right under their noses in there own homes & hope their family members or children do not get treated same way!!
All of u I salute u that have pulled themselves out of that life & keep it up !! Do not let these people set u back !! Hold yourheads high & be proud cause I know how hard it is & embarrassing it can be when they treat u like u should beg them or u r less for needing this medication?? Crazy !! And we r treated like we r the ignorant ones! Sad very very Sad!!
in my city Walgreens has stop sign shaped Suboxen and CVS dont..Walgreens does not accept hip plus insurance..cvs does!!
Re: J (# 2)

Re: J (# 2)
