Can these two pills be taken at the same time? I have IBS and take Lomotil as needed and my dr. prescribed Methylprednlsolone for my sinus infection. Can these be taken together? I don't feel great. ## Hello, Lvf! How are you? I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. I didn't find any interactions listed between these two medications, but it always best to double check such information to be sure. What type of symptoms are you having? The Methylprednisolone is a steroid class medication, so it can cause some annoying side effects, such as headache, nausea, weight changes, fluid retention and elevated heart rate.

I'm a 36 yo female and have been having GI issues for two years. In march of this year I had my diseased gallbladder removed. Since then I've still had issues with indigestion, bloating, excessive burping, nausea, tiredness. I've had ct scan and gastric emptying scan which were negative. I just had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done yesterday. Both we're clean but dr did find undigested food in my stomach. I hadn't eaten solid food for 48 hrs prior to the diagnostic. Any ideas? I need some relief and am currently waiting on biopsy results from dr.

If I'm allergic to sulfa can I take lomotil? I had a reaction to the sulfa salt in Levbid. My sulfa allergy is bad enough that I have to watch what vegetables I eat. I'm also allergic to latex, eggs, cleocin, flagyl. I'm not sure which sulfate I'm allergic to. Also am hypersensitive to sulfides and can't drink wine. I don't attempt beer because I have celiacs. Just thought if I provided all my allergies, you might see a common thread. My allergies are bad enough I have an epi pen ## Hi Angela, Based on my research, Lomotil does contain a sulfa-based active ingredient (atropine sulfate)... So I'd say it is something to stay away from if you have a sulfa allergy. I also wasn't aware that there were so many types of sulfa/sulfur/sulfate allergies? But an art...

I believe that this was in the shape of a caramel shape square chunk, that I chewed. I believe it was removed from the market but I am looking for what was in it to try to replace it as it was the only med that has ever helped with my problem. It might have been chocolate flavored but was definitely dark chocolate colored. ## Hello, Maple! How are you? This medication is still available, under the brand name Lomotil and as a generic, but it does require a prescription from your doctor and is no longer available as a chew, from what I understand. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and blurred vision. Is there anything else I can help with? ## was this medicine available at one time in little brown squares that you chewed?

many years ago I used a med that was like a caramel shaped square that was dark chocolate in color and it was chewable. I am looking to find out what it was and what was in it as it is the only med I have ever taken that controlled my diarrhea. I no the doctor told me it was no longer available back in 88 but am wondering if they have something similar to it now. ## Hi Maple, I did a bit of research online using the description you provided and found that certain brands (such as Imodium) do still make chewable Anti-diarrheal tablets known as Ez Chews. Apparently they're only available in "Cool Mint" flavor... however, this is the closest match I've been able to find. If there's anyone else who would be likely to know more details about the recent history of these typ...

what is the recommended dosage for an adult ## Hello, David! How are you? This is an Imodium Advanced tablet (NDC 50580-338) and you should follow the instructions on the packaging. They state to take 2 after the initial bout of diarrhea, then one to be taken if you have another bout of diarrhea. Are you on any other medications? This may interact with some of them.

My Dr says I have low potassium she gave me pot chloride m 20. When I take this drug, in the morning . By that afternoon I have a sensation like some one hit me in the heart and hot lava goes down my arms. And its like I am dying. It is really really scary .why is this happening. No one knows why. ## Hello, Deborah! How are you? Potassium can be very, very harsh on your stomach, so my guess is that it's ramping up your stomach acid production, since those same symptoms can occur with GERD. Have you tried making sure not to take it on an empty stomach? You also may want to ask about taking an antacid, while you're on it.
