My doctor gave it to me for migrain head aches, restless leg syndrome and anxiety. I take 300 mg at bedtime every night. About an hour after I wake up in the morning I'm very sick to my stomach which sometimes lasts all day long. I also can not keep my legs still. I bounce them all day. About 3 hours before I go to bed I get very irritated. Once I take my night dose it all goes away. Could this be from the gabapentin? I do also take sertraline 50 mg every morning for my anxiety. ## Hello, Sharrie! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problems you're having. It could actually be due to either medication, they've both been known to cause such side effects, as reported by the FDA. However, the restless legs is more ...
Have been on Gabapentin for a year. Built up to 3200 a day for osteoarthritis in my feet. Decided to get off as it wasn't doing much for pain. My doctor brought me down to fast from 3200 to 1600 to 800 in 10 days. Now having stomach issues, anxiety, trouble sleeping, tightness in my chest. Been off of it for 8 days now. Does anyone know how long withdrawal lasts? Been told the higher the dose and time on it that it takes a while to feel better again. ## Hello, Sandy! How are you feeling? Have things improved, yet? There is really no precise time frame that can be given, because it can vary from person to person, it can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to over a month. As listed by the FDA, other withdrawal effects may also include rebound pain, fever, chills, and diarrhea. ## No...
For neuropathic pain. Can this cause small spots of dry skin all over the trunk of the body/breasts/ and now face? ## Hello, Ace! How are you? Yes, that can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. However, side effects are usually transient and go away with time, as your body gets used to a medication, but that may take 4 to 5 weeks. If things worsen, or if they don't eventually go away, you should consult your prescriber. Is there anything else I can help with?
Can gabapentin be used to treat seizures? ## Hello, Cynthia! How are you? I must say after just using it ones The pain is so much better , what I would like to know are these tabs going to fix the problem or will I jst have to keep taking them. ## Hello, Debbie! How are you? The nerves in your spine radiate out to the rest of your body. Your spine is the center location for all of them, that's why the problem may originate there. And no, these medications are not a cure, they can just help with the pain. Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant tha...

I've been on gabapentin for 5 months at a dose of 500 mg per day. (2 x 100mg am, 2 x 100mg at 2pm and 1 x 100mg at bedtime) Started weaning off on the 9th of December by 100mg every 5-6 days but was too fast and now I have horrible anxiety, pressure in head, dread, restlessness,gi disturbances, etc I realize that I am sensitive and must taper more slowly. I started back on taking 100 mg 3x per day but the symptoms aren't subsiding yet (it has been a day) how long can I expect for my brain to recalibrate and for things to settle down? Am I better to go back up to the full dose and start again slower? I realize that everyone is different but I appreciate any advice as I'm barely functional. :( ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Yes, those symptoms can occur upon withdrawal of this ...

I wonder does anyone else suffer with ongoing everyday pain in their teeth/tooth caused by nerve endings in gums, it took a very long time to get diagnosis for this, and a few extractions by dentist before doctors discovered it was a nerve pain and not a dental pain, I have had this for several years now, everyday in life, its like having a toothache, I had a back tooth removed when it first began as I was insistent it was a toothache, but it only moved into the next tooth, my dentist refused to remove anymore teeth as xray showed there was no problem with my teeth, and the one removed was a very healthy tooth. Ive been to hospitals, see Professors, had RadioFreqency carried out on it going through my cheek, with no success, as wrong nerve was burned off, my GP says it will go away one ...
I would like to know if this capsule orange D 04 gabapentin 400 mg has beads inside of it? ## Since there's no way for anyone to see through a solid capsule, the only way to find out is by opening it up. However, if you're inquiring about this for the purpose of lowering your dosage (by removing potential beads) I would just encourage you to ask your doctor for a lower strength. Opening up the capsule only to find powder inside would probably be a waste of a pill being that they're probably quite difficult to put back together without losing a portion of the contents. You can also try contacting the manufacturer (Aurobindo Pharma) for more specific details on the composition of their capsule at: [email protected] I hope this helps!
ive been taking gabapentin for about 5 weeks. i have built up the dosage from 1 *300mg tablet per day up to 5 tablets a day.(and rising). Im concerned the gabapentin will become less effective as I build up my dosage. Compared to other tablets ive taken they have been quite effective with less side effects. tried to have a "day off" from them and it didnt go so well. Pain management tablets is likely to be a long term requirement as i have no diagnosis. Should i try to take a "break" for a day every now and again to slow down tolerance (does doing that make them less effective)? is tolerance a justified concern? ## Hello, Sid! How are you? Yes, tolerance is a valid concern, but for most people it takes several years, not just a few weeks. Thus, you likely don't need ...

It helps ease the pain but I can not afford to keep putting on weight..Any suggestions ## Unfortunately, that is a known side effect of Gabapentin, as reported by the FDA. It can also cause others, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and mood swings. You may want to ask your doctor about possibly trying Pregabalin, it is a similar medication, but may not cause you the problem with weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Iv been taking gabapentin and iv been having sharp pains in my head that goes to my eyes why is that ## Hi Dameris, Based on my research, Gabapentin was originally developed for the treatment of epilepsy, and is currently widely used to relieve neuropathic pain. Gabapentin's most common side effects in adult patients include dizziness, drowsiness, and peripheral edema (swelling of extremities); these mainly occur at higher doses, in the elderly. However, headaches/migraines and eye pain are a couple of the rare and unexplained side effects, so I would speak with a doctor about the problems you are experiencing.
